I dont know exactly what ww posted after the virus post that was deleted and got himself banned, but so other posters know, Ill put this on the table for further discussion.
Rx has decided to hire a person, barman, to moderate its forums, that in essence, usually has been one-sided and very opinionated posting in the political forum.
Maybe its just me, but it seems a little strange that barman, one of the most active posters in the political forum, is not only antagonizing members like whalewager, who most likely disagrees with barman regarding every political subject, barman also has the edit/delete key at his disposal.
It just seems over-the-top that a moderator creates an inflamatory thread and then a veteran/regular poster is subsequently banned.
Furthermore, there were already two active threads about the topic on the first page. If Loren78 or another target of barman would have created the same thread, its likely barman would have merged the thread.

First of all FYI Whalewager is not banned. I will explain what brought all this on.
Here is what happened on May 5th in The Politics Forum:
Barman started a thread about Miss California, Carrie Prejean being involved with the porn industry while also at the some time in her life being anti gay marriage and a so called bible thumper (a regular Political forum type topic) for some reason WhaleWager didn't like Barman taking the side of the Gay rights movement so he posted that if you opened a link posted by Barman in the thread you could run into a virus. This is a serious allegation to make especially if it was totally untrue which it was. The link was just a link to the article's source a popular blog for persons interested in the gay rights issue. Barman deleted it. Here is the sequence posted below.

Bottom line is WW was banned from Politics only for 48 hours.
He wasn't happy with that so he left the site on his own save for a post he made on Friday, prooving he is not banned.
As you know this gay marriage and gay rights issue is probably the most volatile along with the abortion issue that is running rampant in this country today. I don't care what side WW is on but he has no right to use language like that to a complete stranger just because he has different political views.
TheRx is a gambling forum not a political one, posters who get so infuriated by Politics should seek out a real political forum where they can discuss the issues in a proper scenario.
Anyway, that is why WW is not posting, he can but won't. He was banned from the Political Forum only for 48 hours, a ban that expired last Wednesday.
The Rx.com does have standards and will not tolerate that kind of insulting language from it's posters towards posters and moderators alike.
This did not happen here in The Rubber Room but in The Political Forum where we try to maintain some decorum, although that is near impossible.
Sure you can blame WhaleWaher not posting here on Barman but IMO that is totally unfair, blame me if you want for WhaleWager leaving even though he is not banned in any way shape or form and he left on his own after telling one of our moderators to I quote "fuck you barman and your gay fucking agenda".

Obviously that is the post that caused WW to request his IP be banned (it isn't). I have no problem taking responsibility for what happened over a thread in the Political Forum and WhaleWager's departure. I could post dozens of his mocking and in some cases very racist posts that we simply deleted and gave him as much leeway as possible, this time he went to far and received a slap on the wrist 48 hour ban from the political forum.
I would do it over again if it happened again. As head moderator it is my responsibility to try to keep discussions civil whenever possible and this one certainly was not. I am not going to allow posters to tell my employees or fellow posters either to go fuck themselves and their gay agenda period, especially when they are within their rights to post a thread that has been a current story in the Political world this past few weeks..

Robfunk does not work in Politics and World Events. He is an occasionl visitor who posts freely what he wants within the guidelines.
To report a post either email me personally at person19481950@yahoo.com and tell me the thread, offending posters name and post number (top right corner of all post boxes). If you know how to cut and paste a link from an individual post to an email that would be helpful. Also include your poster name.

Use the triangular icon
bottom left hand corner of all post boxes. Just click on it and type profane post, obscene post etc. and click on send report - thats it, very easy. In either case a moderator will look at the reported post and take action if action is deemed necessary.
If you are called profane names or abused by another poster in some way and don't report it most likely nothing will happen except on the small off chance I happen to see it by accident.

Since then Barman has been hired but he is not the so called political forum mod. His job is to monitor the entire forum late nights.

I am sorry you feel that way but a 48 hour ban from a single forum (Politics no less) for telling a moderator to go fuck himself is hardly a raw deal.
The truth is (which not a lot of posters here in The Rubber Room seem to want to hear) that we have given WW more leeway than any poster on the entire forum. He was banned for life and created a ghost to come back and I forgave that. He has posted countless threads that had to be moved from the Offshore Forum to the RR. At least half of his posting is in some way homophobic or racist but we try to work with even that.
Posts like this for example are just not funny or productive in anyway for this site or it's posters.

I am sorry you feel that way but a 48 hour ban from a single forum (Politics no less) for telling a moderator to go fuck himself is hardly a raw deal.
The truth is (which not a lot of posters here in The Rubber Room seem to want to hear) that we have given WW more leeway than any poster on the entire forum. He was banned for life and created a ghost to come back and I forgave that. He has posted countless threads that had to be moved from the Offshore Forum to the RR. At least half of his posting is in some way homophobic or racist but we try to work with even that.
Posts like this for example are just not funny or productive in anyway for this site or it's posters.
