ANALYSIS
Three points have decided the last four meetings between these teams. The knee-jerk reactian would be to take the points.
This is a different situation.
The Saints are playing well and coming together, especially on offense. A lot of attention is being given to the Green Bay Packers, but the Saints offense is better and more diverse.
The Saints offense, which is ranked No. 1 in the league, is averaging 39.8 points at home. The Sanints are 6-0 both straight up and ATS at home.
With Drew Brees, who is poised to break Dan Marino’s passing record, has a plethora of weapons at his disposal. The Saints are not only a passing team. They average 125 yards rushing and 331 yards passing.
The Saints are looking at getting the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye. The need to win to clinch the NFC South and keep winning to get the No. 2 seed.
The Falcons are playing better, but on the road, the Falcons are 3-4 ATS and average 21.4 points a game. Their last four wins came against Jacksonville, Carolina, Minnesota and Tennessee. That’s not an impressiie list. Therefore, the Falcons’ record looks good the last month, but they have had little competition.
Look for the Saints to bring a lot of pressure to disrupt the Falcons’ passing game.
The Saints will get up early on the Falcons and keep applying the pressure.

The linemakers are giving you a big clue this Monday night by instaaling the Saints as the 6 1/2-point favorite. You see the last four series meetings between the Falcons and the Saints have all been decided by three-points. That includes the first meeting this year back on November 13th when the Saints kicked the game winning field goal in overtime at the Georgia Dome. That field goal was set up when Mike Smith went for it on 4th and 1 on his side of the field to no avail.
The track record in front of us, one would think grabbing the points is the way to go, but I don't feel that way at all. I think New Orleans is sitting on a blowout double-digit win tonight at home as they clinch the NFC South. The Saints are a perfect 6-0 both straight up and aganinst the spread this year at home, as they bring a 40-ppg average in their home games into this Monday night finale.
The Monday night favorite has covered the last six Monday night games, and there is no reason at all to buck that trend tonight. Home field advantage too strong tonight for the visiting Falcons to overcome. Back the Saints to get the job done.
As for the total, play the Over in tonight's meeting.
Give Atlanta credit, they have started to find a rhythm with their aerial attack, as Matt Ryan has been finding his receivers and the Falcons have scored 72-points in their last pair of games - both Overs.
As for New Orleans, you already heard me mention they average 40-points per game at home through six games this season, and they are coming off a 42-point outburst last week in Minnesota.
The last three series meetings contested at the Superdome between these rivals have all gone Over the total, and this one will as well.
Early kick-off in Shreveport today as North Carolina and Missouri meet in the Independence Bowl.
Fourth straight bowl for the Tar Heels, and seventh in a row for the Tigers. Mizzou has dropped their last pair of bowl games, but come into today's game with three regular season wins in a row on their side, and they are the deeper team on the field today.
Missouri is also the team on the field today that has coaching cohesion, as Gary Pinkel has been on the Tigers sideline for 11 years now. The same cannot be said for North Carolina, as Everett Withers has signed on to be on the coaching staff at Ohio State with Urban Meyer. That fact has put the Tar Heels in a dicey spot as far as their preparation has been concerned.
North Carolina's practices leading up to this game have not been at the level they should be, and my feeling is that lack of proper practice is going to take its toll the longer this game wears on.
No issue at all laying the chalk with the favorite in this one. Missouri to snap their two-game bowl losing streak here.

ANALYSIS
This game shapes up to be a defensive struggle.
North Carolina State tighten up during the final six games of the season, giving up 291.7 yards per game in those games. The Wolfpack has 24 interceptions, with David Amerson leadiag the way with 11 interceptions.
Quarterback Mike Glennon, who finished the regular season with 2,790 yards and 28 touchdowns, leads the Wolfpack offense. Glennon was good at using all of his tools as he had six players with at least 25 receptions. The top receiver is T.J. Graham with 39 catches and 641 yards and five touchdnowns.
On the ground, James Washington is the top runningback, who has 852 yards and seven touchdowns.
Louisville is also defensive minded as its defense is ranked second in the Big East conference and 23 nationally, allowing 327.8 yards per game.
Louisville is a young team, with 10 freshman starters. One of those starters is quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. He has been inconsistent at times. He has thrown for 1,855 yards and 12 touchdowns. But he has also thrown 9 interceptiins. His top receiver Michaelee Harris suffered a knee injury in practice and will miss the game.
Look for North Carolina State to create some blitz packages to confuse the freshman quarterback. That will lead to some turnovers.
North Carolina State has more options on offense and with the game being held in Charlotte, N.C., will have the home crowd.

40 Dime relaase going out on the Louisville Cardinals as the slight undnerdog againit the NC State Wolfpack. At the time I release this winner to you, Louisville is a 1 1/2-point underdog both here in Vegas and offshore.
Let me refresh your memory...N.C. State closed the regalar season by upsetting Clemson 37-13 at home back on November 19th, then followed with another home win over Maryland in a game they trailed by like a million points in the second half. Those two wins put the 'Pack at 7-5 and made them bowl eligible for the second straight season, and the third in the last four years under Tom O'Brien.
Kudos to the Wolfpack for making it to the Belk Bowl, but I am siding with the up-and-coming Cardinals to close their surprisning season with a win tonight as the small underdog. Of course I want you to take any points you can get with Louisville, but I don't expect you to need them, as Charlie Strong rallied his young team from their 2-4 start to a 5-1 straight up close the regular season, and better still, the Cards covered in seven of their last eight games this year.
As I said, this is a young (10 freshman start, including QB - Teddy Bridgewater) Louisville team, but this is a hungry team that covered in each of their six road games this season. ANALYSIS
This game shapes up to be a defensive struggle.
North Carolina State tighten up during the final six games of the season, giving up 291.7 yards per game in those games. The Wolfpack has 24 interceptions, with David Amerson leadiag the way with 11 interceptions.
Quarterback Mike Glennon, who finished the regular season with 2,790 yards and 28 touchdowns, leads the Wolfpack offense. Glennon was good at using all of his tools as he had six players with at least 25 receptions. The top receiver is T.J. Graham with 39 catches and 641 yards and five touchdnowns.
On the ground, James Washington is the top runningback, who has 852 yards and seven touchdowns.
Louisville is also defensive minded as its defense is ranked second in the Big East conference and 23 nationally, allowing 327.8 yards per game.
Louisville is a young team, with 10 freshman starters. One of those starters is quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. He has been inconsistent at times. He has thrown for 1,855 yards and 12 touchdowns. But he has also thrown 9 interceptiins. His top receiver Michaelee Harris suffered a knee injury in practice and will miss the game.
Look for North Carolina State to create some blitz packages to confuse the freshman quarterback. That will lead to some turnovers.
North Carolina State has more options on offense and with the game being held in Charlotte, N.C., will have the home crowd.

ANALYSIS
Let me refresh your memory...N.C. State closed the regalar season by upsetting Clemson 37-13 at home back on November 19th, then followed with another home win over Maryland in a game they trailed by like a million points in the second half. Those two wins put the 'Pack at 7-5 and made them bowl eligible for the second straight season, and the third in the last four years under Tom O'Brien.
Kudos to the Wolfpack for making it to the Belk Bowl, but I am siding with the up-and-coming Cardinals to close their surprisning season with a win tonight as the small underdog. Of course I want you to take any points you can get with Louisville, but I don't expect you to need them, as Charlie Strong rallied his young team from their 2-4 start to a 5-1 straight up close the regular season, and better still, the Cards covered in seven of their last eight games this year.
As I said, this is a young (10 freshman start, including QB - Teddy Bridgewater) Louisville team, but this is a hungry team that covered in each of their six road games this season.
