My Analysis
Did the line maker not learn his lesson?
Last week Vegas made the 0-6 Sam Houston St Bearkats a 5 1/2 point home favorite over FIU.
Not only did they not cover, they lost the game outright in OT 33-27.
That is the same FIU team UTEP slapped around on the road 27-13 two weeks ago.
With that loss, the Bearkats are now 0-7.
And wouldn't you know it, Vegas has made them a 3 1/2 point favorite over these UTEP Miners.
I am all over the dog.
Did Utep let me down last week at home against New Mexico State? Absolutely.
After watching them against FIU, I like them +4 but they just couldn't get it going against the Aggies.
Four times they were stuck on downs in New Mexico State territory, 3 of which happened in the 2nd half, 2 of those possessions inside the NMST 20 yard line.
I expect them to be better tonight against the 0-7 Bearkats.
When you break down the UTEP schedule, things haven't fallen the right way for a team with 16 starters back from last year.
They lost at Jax State by 3 to open the season, then in 3 straight step up games they lost at Northwestern 38-7, at Arizona 31-10 and UNLV at home 45-28.
La Tech got them at home 24-10 before the win at FIU, then came the loss last week to NMSU.
UTEP is the better team and they are getting points. I will never pass up that scenario ever.

Just have to build off back to back underdogs that delivered the outright win.
Last night UTEP (+3') rallied in the 2nd half to deliver the win 37-34 at SHSU. That was after Tuesday's 40 dime winner New Mexico State (+3') winning outright 27-24 at La Tech.
I have been known to go on some incredible runs and I am confident I am about to go on one these next 6 days.
