This is the song "Read Em and Weep", it has been performed by dozens of other artists -- perhaps most notably Barry Manilow -- but Meat Loaf was the first artist to record it.
What Meat Loaf thread would be complete without this clip.....Meat Loaf has been a fan of Jack Black for years and was honored to be cast in the role of Black's father, and Black would return the favor by performing a duet with Meat Loaf on last year's Hang Cool Teddy Bear record.
This, in my opinion, is one of the great unknown ballads of all time. It was written by jim Steinman and has been performed by various other artists, but I think Meat Loaf's 1986 recording of it on the Bad Attitude record is the best of them all.
Prior to directing such big screen hits as Transformers, Bad Boys, and The Rock, Producer/Director Michael Bay directed 3 vidoes for 1993's Bat Out of Hell 2, including this, one of my favorite videos of all time:
Finally, off the Bat 3 album, "Alive", a song which stuck with me through the early hours of the morning a few years ago when i was on the road for days at a time
I think the first Behind the Music on VH1 I ever saw was Meatloaf. He was bullied as a child supposedly. I guess they put him in a box or something like that. Its been awhile since I saw it.
I do love classic rock though (Zeppelin, Doors, Santana, Allman Brothers, Black Sabbath and a bunch of others I left out)
