Good for him. It shouldn’t be news but being the first it is. Hopefully it does make it easier for those who struggle with coming out. Everyone has the right to be happy and live as they want to. What bothers me is hearing every sports commentator alive put their take on it. He said it his own message that he hopes that one day this isn’t news. It shouldn’t be, but it is.

it speaks volumes the athletes who quickly react to equality in social media but were slow or Havnt commented on this. Lebron James is always commenting on equality and yet this isn’t something he comes out with support. I think it shows how hard it is for some to come out because secretly in locker rooms it really isn’t something guys would be comfortable with.

Openly gay player who is active in the NFL

No openly gay person who has come out has ever played in an NFL game
thank you for qualifying that an openly gay person is one "who has come out"

this, coupled with the never-before used phrase "actively gay", shows you don't just have really strong street cred but you clearly are super tight with the gay community. turning into WOKEnstein before our very eyes (while i enjoy watching you fumble around with the terms)

Does that mean that your engaged in .... mmm , let's say " physical activities " ( in other words GAY SEX ? ) or cruising the gay clubs , partaking in or / and attending gay parades , etc , etc

yes those all sound like actively gay behaviors along with listening to Coldplay and wearing a tube top to a Musical

I don't understand this, what happened to the gay guy who when he was drafted bye the NFL, ESPN kept showing over and over again him kissing his boyfriend and shoving cake in his mouth..

He wasn’t good enough and never suited up for a game.

I still think the NFL had a deal with the rams for them to draft Michael Sam and would do the rams a favor in return

of course they do, but when they speak of equality and respect for groups that have been marginalized in the past their silence shows their cause is one only that is only if it affects them. It’s equality for my people, not equality for all.

I think Carl Nassib coming out is great. Personally know someone who took their own life because of their difficulty coping with their sexuality. It’s a struggle I can’t relate to but sympathize with. Inevitably him doing this is great for those who are struggling, the attention it gets may not be. Most people in general would rather live without the attention and spotlight. Carl will undoubtedly get a lot of unwanted attention from this and hopefully he is okay with that. Long term it hopefully helps those who don’t want the spotlight avoid it because it is more of the norm.

Had a buddy a few years ago tell me if your white and you get called into HR to get fired he always said the first thing you should say, "is it because i am gay?" they won't fire you. Ha Ha!

If it stopped at gay adults that is one thing, but it won't, no chance. Trans rates are skyrocketing and the costs associated for this stuff are not going to be small.

It is a lifestyle with deleterious results.

Not even something I really care about but the data is all there.
