I tried being polite with you, but fuck it. Maybe you don't care about basketball because of your 'great' tradition or lacktherof now, but we out here DO exist and WANT to win. This city deserves an NBA franchise and this is a great way to save the franchise. Maybe that bum Danny Ainge should consider luring a coupe legitimate players to Boston and getting better via free agency.

By the way, what size jersey do you wear? I'll send you a green n gold Durant jersey the second they hang em up in stores all over here in Seattle. :lolBIG:

Your idea of polite is laughable to me.

If that last comment was an attempt at humor, it failed. You don't get it that I just don't care at this point. When I said you can have them, I fully meant it.

But since you seem to be on the rag and bitchy, I'll give a little back. Your team is a joke. You claim you deserve a team and that the fans want one, but yet you were 25th in attendance this year and 23rd last year. You sold out grand total of 5 games this year. And you know why? Because you sorry ass team in Seattle will never even come close to being as respected as the Celtics' franchise. Take your one little championship and go have a circle jerk with the other 3 Sonics fans on a poster of Kevin Durrant.

I think there's a difference between bitterness and anger. I'm angry. It's the day after a royal screwing, and as I said in my very first post, I just wanted to get it off my chest. I'm not denying that. But if people are going to take swings at me, I'm coming right back with 'em myself. And if people are going to tell me that their team deserved the pick, I'm going to make it fully clear to them that they're wrong, which they are.

As for the rest, if we had gotten the first or second pick, I'd be happy because we deserved it . . . just like we deserved Duncan 10 years ago. And when the NBA finally realizes that the system doesn't work and changes it, I'll get a good laugh at their expense.

Would you go to the games if the city of Seattle basically said we have no reason at all to give you a new stadium, even though we gave the Hawks and M's state of the art stadiums? It's not our fault we have a bitchy liberal governor that doesn't know how to do her job. And why would I be bitchy? I just landed Kevin (and spell his name right, it's Durant). How long have the Celtics been around anyway? I'm pretty sure it's been longer than 40 years. You fail to realize how many winning seasons the Sonics have had along with the playoff appearances? Take a look, it might surprise your biased east coast ass. Speaking of bad luck (which yes, you got UNLUCKY last night, but deserved what you got as well) it was VERY unfortunate we had great teams during the Stockton and Malone era, along with playing the best team to ever play the sport in the '96 Bulls.

With an attitude like you have, I only hope the worst for your city. Keep bitching and moaning though, it's pretty entertaining stuff to read.

BTW, are you really speaking of a circle jerk over one championship in 40 years? How bout the Sawks winning one in 90 years? Oh but it was recent, so that gets you off the hook, my bad...

I dont quite get the DESERVE part........the NBA wants parity...just like hockey and the NFL......they dont want dynastys anymore......I dont know why..but they dont.....the NFL doesnt either.......you may THINK you deserve it as a fan, but even the 3 fans in Seattle deserve a superstar.......as a hockey fanatic, I hated the lockout and salary cap fiasco.....as a RedWing fan, it took away from us buying a great team and having a rivalry with Colorado.....Now, hockey sucks.....I hate parity....The Wings are just like every other team now.....If the Yankees become like any other team....baseball will suck too........its good to have them......whether you like them or not.....but trust me bro....I understand your bitterness! Im not gonna pile on....but Im not gonna sympathize either.......what FAIR way do you suggest they do the NBA lottery?

sorry about your luck Jibba, but luck is exactly what got you the 5th pick. Many other teams would love to have a #5 pick. You could have done much worse.

Boston is much more than a Durant or Oden from being a contender. Grabbing one of those guys this year would only make it much more likely that your picks in the coming years would not be top 10 picks

I'll break this up a bit.

New stadium? We have a new stadium and it's the ugliest thing I've ever seen. But yet fans still pile in because that's just how things are in Boston. We love the fuckin' suffering. We don't use it as an excuse to turn our backs and not go to the games. But we can only take so much.

Bitchy liberal governor? Let me introduce to to Deval Patrick.

Spelling? Bite me. I don't care how his name is spelled.

Keep rationalizing your lack of championships if you want. I know all about the Sonics and don't need a lecture on their bad luck. Fact is they pulled a horeshoe out of their ass last night. I wouldn't have given you sh*t if you didn't start off by saying how you needed one of these two and the Celtics didn't. But you did. And then you called it polite.

Finally, feel free to wish whatever you want on Boston. We have a top 5 baseball team and a top 3 (if not better) football team. I won't lose any sleep over this. And I don't think I was being out of line by complaining a bit about a fucked up system.

If we had gotten one of those two, nobody in Boston would have argued that we weren't still 2 to 3 years away. But the fact is that now we're easily 5-6 years away from being a contender. And by then Paul Pierce will be gone. I do hope they trade him at this point though, as he deserves better than the "luck" of the Irish. But for the record, I'm not sure you know how much young talent we have in Boston these days. They just need a bit of time and another big star.

Thanks for at least being cool about it.

How about the system all 3 of the other major sports use? The one that allows horrible teams to eventually crawl back to respectability and not go through a cycle of losing like the Clippers? If they MUST have a lottery, why not stick to having only the top 3 teams have a shot at #1? Why give a team, using the 1997 draft as an example, that was a the best team in the lottery by a longshot (and they were only in the lottery because their superstar player got hurt), a shot at the best player to come out of college in a decade?

The reason I say deserve is because if it was any other sport, we would have had a shot. Instead we got less than a 40% chance at the top two, which to me seems ridiculous. I mean seriously, the worst team NEVER gets the best player, and that's not particularly right. I've said that year in and year out when it never involved the Celtics. And I'm still saying it.

Thanks for listening though.

I just laugh at the idea of you pulling for Portland and Seattle to fall flat on their faces, what they do? They struck gold and got lucky last night, you want to blame all your issues with the NBA lottery system on them? Just doesn't make any sense.

I was polite in the fact that I acknowledged your argument, and came back with why Seattle is a deserving home for Kevin Durant and needs him badly. The issue at hand in Seattle is that the Sonics want a new arena because it has been rated by many as being the worst arena in the league for multiple reasons. Christine Gregoire is a foaming at the mouth liberal that doesn't know how to handle the situation whatsoever, and we are possibly losing a pro franchise because of her dumbass.

I hear your argument and agree it is flawed, I really do. I really doubt there is a conspiracy behind it all if that's what you are implying. Not as much of a conspiracy to hand Jerome Bettis a Super Bowl two years ago, because we all know there was an agenda behind that game. But that's another issue for another day.

Im always laughing WITH ya buddy.........trust me, I know as a fan how it is........all fans do! Maybe they should package Pierce for something....I dont know what...but something.....Id say the same with Garnett and Minnesota.......the NBA needs to get away from marketing players....market TEAMS! back in the day you had Magic and Bird and Jordan and Isiah Thomas....but, it was Pistons /Bulls.......Celtics / Lakers....now its LeBron against the Pistons.....or Kobe against the Spurs....or Wade against the Pistons / Bulls........

Thats why I like the way the Pistons and Spurs do things.....team oriented....team first! No superstars with the Pistons....but all 5 starters can beat you.......Personally, Im not big on Greg Oden.....I think he may be ok....but seriously, he still is 4 - 5 years away.....still gets in too much foul trouble, and needs better offense! I dont even know why Im writing in this thread...I hate the NBA!

:lolBIG: at the Bettis Superbowl stuff..........while I think the NFL liked that story, as well as us in Detroit.....I dont think it was fixed....I mean, Vanderjagt coulda just made the stupid kick! But the holding in the end zone on Darrell Jackson....Im still trying to see it....so I see your point addict!

And Jibba, as far as the draft or lottery.....your system would make tanking games even happen MORE! I wanna SEE the lottery drawing live...not behind some fuckin closed doors.......The NBA has been rigged forever......they wanted Michael Jordan to win so bad, they blew up the Pistons......I admit, it was awesome beating him every year......then they changed the game and rules...so THEYRE superstar could win and market the game better......Yes, I believe that!

It has nothing to do with blame. I just wish we got the pick that they lucked into and which, IMO, they don't deserve.

No conspiracy claims here. Just think it's a stupid system and I'm done with it. Burn me once . . . ouch. Burn me twice . . . fuck off bugger.

Appreciate it bro. And we will likely be packaging Pierce and building for 2011 at this point. The guy has always been a class act here and deserves to win somewhere. And I'll wish the best to whatever team is lucky enough to get him . . . just like I did with Colorado and Bourque years back.

And I agree on the NBA. It's all centered around getting the one player who will score 50 points and get every call from the refs because he's [insert name here].

The thing is though, if a team is going to tank, they're going to tank. I don't think any team that wants to tank decides not to because they may get screwed by the lottery system. But I totally agree on the lottery. I hated that bastard's smug and wincing face when he pulled out that Celtics card.

As for rules, the NFL has changed rules for Indy, so their superstar could win. Not saying he couldn't have done it anyways though.

First, it's "they're," not their. Second, I'm not crying. I'm complaining. Is that against the rules or something?

The only reason I ever entered into this conversation is when you said I wish that Seattle falls flat on their face, and I took that personal. It's over.
