These long term contracts are insane. Beltran is a great player no doubt. Still have holes, no real catcher (sorry Mike), so-so bullpen, defense still poor but having Beltran/Cameran running around certainly improves the outfield defense. Good things are a solid rotation, Beltran plus Reyes/Matsui also certainly capable of improving. We shall see. :digit:
I personally think Beltran made a mistake going to a market like New York. I do not think it fits his personality. I knew Carlos pretty well when he was with the Royals as we have a mutual friend. He is a very quite and reserved person who actually is nice and not self indulged. I would like to see him thrive wherever he is, but like I said I was shocked when he went to NY, as if does not seem like a good fit to me.
