USC/CAL breakdown:

USC is the perfect matchup to slow down Jahvid Best. Stout up front and tons of speed at linebacker. 8 men in the box with Mays floating deep. Even though Mays looks like an in the box type safety - his skills are best suited at playing in coverage. Steve has watched CAL multiple times this year and Riley is not good. He makes plays when the team has balance. There will not be any balance tonight and Riley will get harassed all night. Steve expects lots of blitzing for both stopping Best and getting after Riley. Everson Griffen will have MULTIPLE sacks tonight.

CAL's DL is pretty underrated at this point, so it's likely going to be a smash mouth type of game early, but USC will open it up eventually and expose CAL like Oregon did last week. USC's 12 headed monster at RB is going to be playing with added motivation this week for Stafon and they are going to pound these losers all night.

USC wins in convincing fashion.

Oregon's defense held Best to 3.4 yards a carry and a long of 11. Yes, they got murdered and eventually went away from the run, but he still ran the ball 15 times unsuccessfully.

USC is LOADED at linebacker and will contain him with their speed and by blitzing to stop him.

CAL is not scoring more than 10 points tonight. And if they do, it is from Best getting to the 2nd level with no one there due to a blitz.
