They just approved a high school graduation a buddy told me allowing six members from each family who has a kid graduating to attend at the high school football stadium , his kid is graduating

Doing that in a couple weeks don’t see why they not playing football in it come August

Well with no fans and just parents? I think it’s possible if you test the players and refs and coaches. But is that possible? I don’t know if it’s financially possible

Graduation isn’t a contact sport lol.

No way they test every athlete before a game

Then everything besides professional sports shouldn’t be played. Just being real about the situation. Watch the video in the OP

Yeah exactly. I don’t know. That’s why I’m bringing it up.

When I see trump before the ufc fights saying, “ we need sports back.” I surely hope he isn’t talking about fans in seats. Or really anything below professional sports

Lol 20 people. So parents have to watch from their cars or something?

I foresee these southern states trying to do it. But it potentially could be a disaster if not addressed seriously throughout the rest of the year. Last thing we need is fans in seats. If they let the players play, I don’t know how that potentially couldn’t spread it

I think full stadiums of fans are at least 6 months away, if not more.
Socially distanced stadiums could work as well, definitely helps with the revenue issue. No fans in stands means less revenue. 20% full stadiums is at least something.

I am mostly speaking of the sports we watch on TV, professional sports and collegiate football.

College football is significantly important for the budgets of most athletic departments. These athletes will be tested similarly to pro athletes in my opinion. If they can get a consensus by beginning of June, I believe college football will play at some point in 2020. Fans or no fans.

As for high school, rec league, etc. - testing every high school and rec league athlete will not happen on a weekly basis for sure. However, I believe if kids are allowed back to school, all of these sports will happen. If it's safe enough to go to school, then it's safe enough to do sports. My daughter is a competitive gymnast, and they start practice again today. It isn't competition season, so worrying about large gatherings not an issue. Practice is not as often, but they are being very careful and thoughtful. Parents are pretty much not allowed in the gym, only to pick up if their child isn't old enough.

I really don't know why a kid would go to school in the fall if there isn't going to be social activities. Fuck paying 5k for an online class that you can learn on youtube for free. Just take a year off and go work at CVS.

The dogma of college education is pretty strong and they're able to rip people off because of it, but getting people to pony up for college w/o any of the social and experience benefits seems like a tall task even for the higher ed. cartel.

Attendance may not be down enough to curtail CFB playing but it should take a big hit.
