Atlanta vs Valencia Feb 19th. I remember betting on Atlanta as they won 4-1. The game referred to as now, "game zero." The game that allowed Coronavirus to spread all across Italy killing over 25K. One game. 4 goals. 4 different moments of explosion that cost the lives of thousands of people.

They can legit trace it back to one moment in Italy when everything went wrong. That moment.

Watch the HBO Real Sports that came out. The clip above just touches on the United States sports. In the episode they open with that February 19th game. Unreal shit.

You really can't have fans until 2021 at the very least. And then the question becomes....do the owners really want to play? I think pro sports have no choice...they have to play with no fans to declare a champion. College...who gives a fuck if they return anytime soon or not

Jesus Christ. In December and January, people all over California attended games and guess what? They're fine.

Owners want to play because of $$$$$

I'm sure most people who "want to get out of the house" would have no problems going to games either

Ideally have the NBA playoffs in Orlando and Vegas and play with no fans
Have MLB start late with no fans and then gradually play games with some fans
Once football starts (and baseball) maybe let 10k fans in the stadiums and distance seats from each other?

So a family of 4 can sit together but nobody is allowed to sit 4 seats from them left/right/front/back. Maybe something like that?

Not ideal but at least its something?

Are you retarded?

That is hypothetical. Yes you are. The virus wasn’t here in December. You probably are confused by the annual flu again. And wasn’t here until late January.

Keep on watching those whacko right wing YouTube videos like they’re fact.

Maybe that could work. A major distance thing and everybody with masks? I suppose.

The thing is when something exciting happens and you yell....the particles fly all over. So I personally think we won’t see any fans until 2021. Honestly.

Only way is if everyone is wearing a mask and they will remove people who remove their masks if told repeatedly type of thing.

I actually know a few people who were on vacation in California in late Dec/Jan, attended sporting events, and became REAL sick when they came home. Maybe it was an early stage of corona? Maybe just the flu? Not sure. But people got REAL sick

Also maybe only let people in who have an ID card saying they've tested negative for C-19 and/or have antibodies after recovering.

Had Kyle Shanahan not choked away another Super Bowl, would CA have more than 1.9k deaths?

1+ million would've packed SF for the parade.

A couple of thoughts FWIW

1. If you want to see a civil war in the US, ask people to produce an ID card to get into events. Same with getting chipped.
2. A Superbowl parade in SF would have caused a lot of spread of the virus - without a doubt. Doesn't matter which side of the floor you vote with. Had to do some interesting research for a consulting project. At the beginning of COVID, the number 1 county in infections per capita was Blaine County, Idaho. Not NY, CA, etc. Interesting article on why - the lack of social distancing had a lot to do with the spread and ultimate death. Ski resorts were big culprits in mass outbreaks - saw other data from Colorado that was similar.

3. That said, I don't think Fauci is right on no sports. I think it is clear that sports with fans is a no go. Probably for a while. However, with proper testing and isolation, I think they could easily go on. There is no less social distancing on the sports field as there is at, say, a beach in Jacksonville.....

4. Bringing me to that point - the #FloridaMoron hashtag started when Jacksonville opened its beach on April 17, about 2 weeks ago. Timeframe for showing COVID symptoms is 2-14 days. So, how is Jacksonville doing anyway:

For those who have trouble with graphs, new cases in Jacksonville from 4/24-4/28 averaging around 12 per day down significantly from its peak of 57 on 4/6. There is no spike, and I doubt there will be. But the world was ending according to the whole nation. Floridians are a lot of things, but morons isn't really one of them. At least not all the time.

And, no one gets tested before they go to the beach. Athletes, coaches, etc. will be significantly tested, and if anyone tests positive, things will get shut down. But I think it is a stretch to shut it down before trying. The results may surprise you.

Heard DeSantes mention that yesterday how Jacksonville has been doing well since they opened the beaches.

I'm still "grounded" living in the tri county area but not really bothering me.

a little bit of hope today came when i found out we may be finishing our little league season this summer!! Now i hope the kids can start camp in June (i'll even settle for July)

So you are saying we are shutdown over nothing and we should have sports with fans in the seats, ASAP? Is that what you are implying?

Regardless of if we had a few cases here before late January.... it didn’t spread to all 50 states because a few people had it in December. The mass spread was started in February and March here in the United States. That’s just fact. What you brought up has no baring on anything in here.

Once you watch that HBO real sports and you see that soccer game and that excitement. Then come back and talk to me. Don’t try to tell me sporting events didn’t play a role in this.

Imagine your favorite team hitting a game winner in the playoffs. And you and the crowd going absolutely berserk. The last thing you are thinking about is a virus that spreads like this one.

So you’re bumping into people, screaming, spit flying out of your mouth. This is what happens at every sporting event.

Obviously it’s a whole case of being disingenuous. People know this is bad and won’t admit it because of money.

This is what I’ve been saying from the jump and why we would struggle with this virus. We were programmed in this country to think money money money. Over everything.

Those sporting events combined with the incompetence of the administration put us in the situation we’re in now.
