O.J. Simpson out of SanFrancisco City College and later the SFO Niners. Orenthal went on to win the Heisman Trophy for the University of Southern California, who can forget his 73 yd touchdown run against UCLA in 1967.

Bill Russell is the greatest hardware whore in the history of sports, if he were an RX Gambler, he would no doubt be surfing the Bonus & Perks page as we speak.

It takes Magic + MJ, or either's crowns plus Wooden's titles to surpass Russell's trophy case(2NCAA, 1 Gold, 9 of 13 NBA)..and nobody can seemingly compare with his lifetime hardware batting average(12 of 18)?

How crazy is it to try and pick just one? Some guys are loved for reasons other than being the most talented. Dave Stewart and Will Clark were adored by the locals, but neither was exactly the kindest citizen. If you had to pick one you probably have to go with Rice, but man to pick just one is crazy.

I just saw a biography on Joe Montana on A and E, and it reminded me of all of the great things he did in his career, and i cant think of anyone in SF who was really close.

DiMaggio by a nose over Montana - Lefty O'Doul honorable mention(Look up what he did for the Seals.

DiMaggio batted 398 for the SF Seals before he went to the Yankees in 36- He also had a hitting streak their which was more than the 56 game streak in 41 with the Yankees.
