SP,spend alot of time in Pitts. area.Although the guys there are not liberal in thier thinking when it comes to gays, believe me they have much more important things on thier minds.Namely the economy, why thier small businesses are failing and where the can find a job. These are the things they are concerned about. The economy in Western PA right now stinks.

XPanda, am I the only one who has decided after 3 weeks and several dozen Replies from SodiumP that are utterly devoid of civility, that responding to anything he posts is a waste of everyone's time?

It's been interersting to meet, to read and to trade opinions with PATRIOT, KMAN, NJ SPORTS and others who obviously have some strong differences with my own opinions, but who do know how to compose a sentence without including personal slurs and profane asides in every post.

I'd prefer a Forum that does not censor posts and it seems the RX is pretty good about that. But that unfortunately means I have to page thru profane insults to follow any Political topic here. Ah well, the overall company is solid....three cents from Clearwater

Barman,

I wouldn't sweat the SP thing. It's similar to what a columnist said about Rush Limbaugh being divisive, "Faulting SP for being insulting and profane is like blaming dogs for sniffing butts". Hell, it's just his base nature and he can't help it.

If laws were left up to the majority, like in a democracy, blacks and other minorities would still not be able to vote. Therefore, the majority should not decide who can be married.

The US Constitution says that "all men are created equal". It does not say "men can only marry women". I believe because of this that eventually men will be allowed to be married to men. To not allow this would be to deny certain rights to a group of people (homosexuals) just like it is not right to deny a group of people (blacks) the right to vote.

Truth hurts.

The repeated inane drivel that is passed along as some great insight or wisdom is beyond laughable.

Afterall you posted that sodomy is somehow a constitutionally protected right?

It was fun playing Steve, anytime you want another dose of what happens in the real world, c'mon back with some more *wisdom*.

Biggamesonly,

You're thinking of the Emancipation proclamation. The Constitution says that blacks are only 60% of a real person (white). It's sad but true. In response to your other statement, if the Constitution neither prohibits nor grants certain rights then the people can decide what would become of that issue.

Male vs Goat. Dog vs Cat. Elephant vs Mouse. Gerbil vs Gere etc etc Priorities people, priorties. ROCK THE VOTE.

FALCO: Anal sex between a man and a woman is illegal in most states.

BM: Not since last summer when the SCOTUS ruled in Lawrence vs Texas that sexual acts between consenting adults cannot be criminalized.

So those who believe that people who engage in sodomy should be imprisoned are finally, legally out of luck.

Prostitution remains the exception, since there is commerce involved.

What gov't cheque are you referring to? If it's you insinuation that gays want to marry so they can join their partners in cashing a welfare cheque, the following quote, taken from the CWA Forum (most definitely not a 'Gay Agenda' backer) might clear that up for you:

"In fact, homosexuals do far better financially than most Americans. According to Overlooked Opinions, a homosexual polling firm, the annual income of homosexual households is 41 percent higher than the national average. In addition, nearly half of all gay households include someone holding a professional/managerial job. And Businessweek noted that homosexuals are five times more likely than the average American to earn $100,000 a year."

First of all,

any poll done by homos is going to promote homos?

Second of all welfare checks? WTF are you talking about where did I post anything about welfare checks?

There are a whole lot of benfits afforded married men and women via the social security administration, via the veterans administration and via the health and welfare departments.

That is why there was a stampede to california, not out of some joyous union between two consenting adults.

Not that it matters, because it is a moot point.

But it is hard to believe that people would bear children for the sole purpose of receiving bigger welfare checks, but you would be silly to suggest it doesn't happen.

Would you then support the abolishment of any and all marital benefits awarded to opposite-sex couples, including you and your wife? That way, we would know who got married for love and who got married for the 'gov't handout.'
