If the rest of the government isn't going to be run efficiently, why should we hold the military to such silly standards?

heh...not an unfair observation on your part

W99: However, if one wants to make a political point by attacking a political party about prostitution, then one must show the difference between the parties.

Bar: Well I didn't introduce that to the discussion.

W99: Is 'human trafficking" an ancillary crime? I'm not sure there's a worse crime.

Bar: Human trafficking...aka "slavery"...is indeed an insidious crime and can be addressed without the need to criminalize the exchange of money for sex between consenting adults.

W99: Of course, if you make more stuff legal, there will be less crimes, but there are obviously different crimes. Should we make theft and murder legal?

Bar: No, because both of those (trans)actions involve at least one non-consenting party.

The ancillary crimes most commonly associated with prostitution being illegal include, but are not limited to:

1) Fraud by the seller
2) Fraud by the buyer
3) Violence by the buyer against the seller
4) Violence by the seller or the seller's agents against the buyer
5) Unwitting passage of disease from one party to the other (itself a form of violence)
6) Violence against innocent bystanders and other members in the community by the agents of the seller
7) Violence waged between sellers competing for business and/or territory

Having the industry illegal also creates a host of "nuisance" type crimes which most often stem from sellers operating in places which clearly devalue the surrounding community. This lower tier of problems can usually be dealt with in agreeable fashion by having the local/state community establish and enforce reasonable regulations on when/where/how business is conducted.

I don't accuse you of having a caretaker, but Punter does. However, if one wants to make a political point by attacking a political party about prostitution, then one must show the difference between the parties.

Is 'human trafficking" an ancillary crime? I'm not sure there's a worse crime.

Of course, if you make more stuff legal, there will be less crimes, but there are obviously different crimes. Should we make theft and murder legal? that'll reduce the crime rate, reduce unemployment in multiple ways by reducing the workforce and creating new careers and doing such will reduce our deficits too.

Who is my caretaker? The IRS is yours, locking in our relationship with you beancounters with complicated tax laws.

Which political party is most likely to try and legislate morality?

How can it be illegal to sell what its is legal it give away?

What does illegal human trafficking have to do with prostitution being legal? It would appear to me that it would be simpler to control human trafficking if the end product was legal and open.

Comparing consensual sex to "theft and murder". Must be a republican thing.
