It's real simple. People have died defending what you find amusing to desecrate. It's not an abstract icon to a lot of people. If I saw someone burning the flag I would stop them. Simple as that. And just as simple is this statement... if you don't like the US then get the f*ck out. Show some balls, move to Canada. It's a great country in it's own right. Since you dont seem to understand this, Gambling offshore in the US is already illegal. Everyone here knows that already. I dont agree with this policy, and it has not stopped me. I don't think this bill has anything to do with organized crime. It is just that the US has become very conservative. During the last presidential election, I heard one voter from the midwest call into a talk radio show, complaining that one of the volunteers at the place where he was about to vote actually handed him a Christian Coalition voting guide inside the building, telling him that "God wants you to vote for George Bush". What kind of crap is that? Being basically liberal, that kind of stuff scares me. These people look upon gambling as an evil thing that must be eliminated. You can bet that if they could get rid of all gambling, including the lottery and the US casinos, they would do that as well.
