I realize I am new to the thread with no credibility, but with that said, here is my take on this game...
It's the standard, small chalk favorite move often delivered by him. Label it Game of Year, Game of Decade if you want, but I think Gtown is in the right spot for the win and cover here. I will be waiting until last minute to get better odds on the moneyline...
I am a fan of Louisville, and have friends that go to the school. Not that it means anything, but just throwing it out there. A few of them are skeptical of this game... This is from the same guys that said load up on Utah outright as 14 pt dog a few years ago, the same guys that said load up on ND outright two weeks ago...
The factors you have to look at is that Gtown is in a must-win situation, at home, on primetime television, fighting for their postseason lives. Gtown NEEDS this game much more than Louisville. With Gtowns remaining games @Vill, @SJU, Depaul, it is a must win- plus there is a chance they can get a bye for the Big East Tournament (They have no chance vs Nova on the road, as Nova is too deep and great at home--- that line will probably be Nova -5.5). Gtown is not going to try and outrun Louisville, because they are simply not deep enough. They are 3-4 at home in conference games. I think it will be in the mid 70s range.
The Big East has been kind to some home teams this year. I thought the refs were handing Syracuse the game on a silver platter vs Nova yesterday, and were lucky they missed 3 consecutive 3's that last possession.
If Gtown finishes 3-1 their last 4 conference games, they'll be in a good position to atleast make a run in the Big East tournament, wins over Memphis and Maryland at home will bode well for the resume, if they can make it to Big East quarterfinals, they will make NCAAs... but first up, they have to take care of business tonight!
Gtown wins 77-72...
