Wow, was that the ultimate backdoor cover by Tennessee last night?
Other than shaking your head and maybe uttering a few choice profanities, what are you going to do?
I had a 15 dime play on the Colts last night. Looked good when they were up 21-0, right?
So late night I was traveling and when I happened to set down and catch a glimpse of the game it was the play where the rookie wide receiver of the Colts broke up a sure TD pass to Reggie Wayne. Right then I had a bad feeling.
Next time I had a chance to watch it was in the final minute with Tennessee driving deep in Indy territory. Well, we all saw how that played out, right?
Again, what are you going to do? Whine? Cry like a baby? Curse the Colts? Blame the coaches or officials? Say you're not going to ever bet on Indy again?
Believe it or not, there's a LOT of handicappers that do all of the above.
Me? I just roll with it because in 25 years as a gambler I know with 100% certainty that the breaks always even out in the long run. Of course I realize that's a hard concept to grasp after a loss like last night's, but a fact is a fact.
Did I lose big money Thursday? You bet I did. And my clients did, too. That sucks, but today is another day and the weekend holds plenty of betting opportunities to get the money back.
Guys that focus on the past in this business lose their focus on making money in the future. I'm not one of those guys because I've already forgotten about the game and moved on. If you're a gambler, it's the only thing you can really do.
