I have to say Discovery's new show "Swords : Life on the line" is every bit as good. Though tonight's show is a repeat.

This is a show about fishing out where the 'perfect storm' took place (Atlantic Ocean) in search of high price catch.

If any of you are ever in Seattle, the boats are pretty much available for viewing from the dock at the fisherman's terminal in Ballard, the ships are actually much smaller in person.

Great show,I know it probably varies with the size of the catch, but what does your average crew member make a year?

full share will make 35k in red crab season, and 25k in oppie season. Total of about 3 mths work. But those 3 mths are 7 day weeks, 18+ hours a day.

On a side note to be a full share fisherman during those two HUGE PAY day fisheries, you also have to agree to tender for hearing, and work the boat for salmon season(s). Those boats are multy million dollar investments, and the owners do all they can to have them fishing 300 days a year.
