Barman-
Sucks that I missed you.

I was at Fergs at 3pm...........so needless to say, I was half-snockered well before gametime.

Well you always will have the negative posters trying rain on the DRays parade. Putting them in toilet, after winning 12 straight they will lose 12 straight. Well guess what? They are not setting DRay records, they are setting MLB records. Brazelton pitches like Cy Young. Even that surprised me. MLB big wigs are chomping their cigars and having money fights, licking their chops at this feel good story. What did they have on Saturday, 7,000+ walk up attendence? That is huge. Lou the manager is pushing all the right buttons. Awesome speed/power combo lineup. Also very good vet/youngster blend. Bringing in the vets really helped. I could not live further from Tampa, and they are in the papers here. I am not a homer. I prefer profit. They are my favorite team right now. One thing that is noticably different is the way the vets have showed the youngsters a winning swagger. Watch this club's body language and enthusiasm. When they lost the game to break the streak, wild pitch with two out in 8th, they bounced back with 19 run outburst. When they watched a 4 run lead evaporate yesterday, old Rays would have folded. New Rays swim faster. Heads are high, everybody is at edge of dugout. This last place team has a championship swagger. They are beating first place teams. They play, 9 full innings. If you look at FROG's teams, ones that I bet, game after game, like Motown. They play all game long, every minute. And they are well coached/managed. They have no superstars, but as a team they are all stars. When I spot these underated teams, it is time to fatten the frogs. Forget my vacation, I will have a better one on the Rays. Yesterday they cashed the runline again. +1.70. Strange because usually they are a dog in the game. They were dogs 10 straight before that. Even though I have goofy 2500-1 to win it all, do you think I am just sitting on the sidelines here? I live for teams and opportunities like this. Why? JKC. They Just Keep Cashing. I feel very fortunate to have so many dog opportunities the last 4 weeks. I know it will not last forever, but this blind squirrel is storing an awful lot of nuts for the future...Best Wishes...OF

Plus, the Marlins are pissed and embarrassed right now.

This is last tough home game for a while. 4 with Jays could be 3-1, 4-0. Then another long road trip. Marlins, O's for 4 and Yanx for 4. To be honest, I am off DRays today. But will be picking spots on road trip. The Bolts sprinkled a little championship dust on the Drays. 15-1 since Bolts won the cup. But dust has a tendency to wear off. July looks very tough. Lowest payroll in majors is getting a big bang for the buck at this juncture...Best Wishes Fish...OF

Can Lou talk tight fisted owners on pursuing starting pitcher? That would show renewed commitment, I have no feeling about this?

Lou has hinted he is ready to deal, meaning he actually believes this team is a legit contender.

Since the inception of this thread, the D-Rays have rattled off another 8 out of 9 games and have cut the Red Sox lead in the wild card to a mere 3 games in the loss column!!!

Like I mentioned, this is a serious charge!!!

I am sweating as a diehard Bosox fan.

I broke down and threw $50 on Tampa Bay at 400 to 1 for the pennant yesterday. They did something no team has ever done...be 18 games under .500 and come back to be 1 game over .500 in the same season, and they did it in 33 games! Florida started out horribly last season and they won it all. Who knows? I will have no regrets taking a 400 to 1 pennant at this point, especially with Boston underachieving as always. Their getting great pitching and playing great defense. Plus, they have speed to burn. They just brought up a kid named Gathright and he is faster than Crawford! He could make a big impact once he gets over his jitters from playing in the big leagues.

BTW...I'll be sitting behind home plate tomorrow. They got me going!

The thing about the 03 Marlins is, the had everything. pitching, hitting, speed and decent RP. . .This Tampa team probably has all the offense a team would need to win a title. . .The pitching is a big ? though. I mean the last team the sting rays lost a series to was the yankees, and the yankees have what......pitching.

We put $10 last nite on TB wins AL East at 200-1.

Already have $5 at 100-1.

Also have $40 on TB Finishes Higher Than Fifth, though we only got 8 to 1 on that.
