This race has put together a fine field of sprinters. To be sure, there appears to be a great deal of speed here which could possibly set it up for Street Boss to come from behind. However, don't really like his price as the favorite and think this is a contentious field. Going to take a shot at what will be the speed of the speed and, if not, can also rate.

Race 9 - The Breeder's Cup Classic
Like everyone else, been waiting months for this race. Of course, the wonder of whether Curlin can repeat but, for me, I have been waiting for another reason and that is to hope to beat him. Since the Pacific Classic at Del Mar, I have been wondering how Go Between would do against Curlin. Mott took him to Kentucky to prepare for this race bypassing the Goodwood prep earlier in this Oak Tree meeting.
This race will be one of tactics. There is very little speed in this race so we are likely to see a bunched field jockeying for position on the far turn. Normally, that hurts a closer like Go Between and it might here. Some wonder if Curlin will handle the surface as he has never run on a synthetic track, but I think he'll be just fine. If he is going to be beat it will be because he gets trapped in a clogged field and can't get out to run. Go Between has put in some brilliant breezing workouts and should be ready for his best but the lack of pace could hurt him, but having Gomez in the saddle helps him. So,
