Duke up by 5, line most had was Duke -5.5 3 seconds left Utah misses 3-point try Duke gets the rebound Utah basically with no hope to win now, Duke bettors screwed, gonna lose by a half Utah trapped Duke player with the ball (Quinn Cook) Utah Utes trying to slap ball outta Cook's hands...remarkably no foul.... clock ticking down 1.7...1.6...1.5...1.4 tick tick tick time is fucking passing really slowly like a timewarp thousands of Duke bettors are screaming at TVs all across the country "foul his ass %$@&%*!!!" despite the fact there'd have been really no point in Utah doing that, Cook manages to escape the 2 or 3 Utes surrounding him dribble dribble SLAP across his arm from a Ute (foul) but time has expired, Duke players celebrate, coaches shake hands Utes leave the floor and are gone.

Foul happened with .7 seconds on the clock. Technically, like, if it's the intention of the refs that the game be played by the rules Quinn Cook needs to shoot 2 free throws (Duke in Double Bonus) but for several minutes it doesn't seem ("feel") like thats whats gonna happen Utes have left the floor, the game is "over" seems like the refs are just gonna call it.

TV announcer even says "Thats it, the game is over"...after discussion amongst him and his announcer buddy about the fact that Cook should shoot FTs...announcer says "Game Is Over" as though he has seen some indication from the floor that the refs have called it.

Next immediate camera shot is of Ref at the scoring table leaning over saying some brief something then turning around and heading back out to the floor Utes are made to return to the floor, Cook is sent to the line and theres massive rejoicing in houses, bars, apartments, casinos and cars all over USA as Cook is 89.6% FT shooter (season) & 6 for 6 from the line in this game.

Cook misses the first freethrow. Oh God. One wonders if he understands the importance of his making this next one. Here it comes...swish.

Duke covers by .5 me personally I push my hedge bet which...arguably I shoulda bought a full point cuz settling for the 1/2pt. buy and solid +6 with the Utes was just buying into a push but whatever....

WOW,i myself had DUKE-5 and as i said i did not see the game due to personal reasons but when i seen the score this morning and it was by 6 i said, whew, just made that one a winner,......thanks for the posted replay,haha,..you did it well

I had +6 on Utah, so I feel I got screwed ... wouldn't be the first time, and Won't be the last.
Guess it's better than a Loss

No way that stands, that's a cheap shot. Pretty sure that will be disputed, if my -5 doesn't pay tomorrow I'm going to the gaming board.

Just to clarify what happened at Silverton and I'm sure other Cantor properties. CG Technologies is Cantor Gaming which operates Sportsbooks at a lot of Vegas Casinos. When the game apparently ended in a 5 point victory by Duke, Cantor posted it as a 5 point victory which of course was to their liking. Then when the Refs reviewed the tape and decided to allow the free throws, the final score was changed to a 6 point victory. That's when there was mass confusion at the Silverton as their computer had the wrong number ! Probably close to a 10 minute delay before they corrected the closing number and started paying ! Even though I had Duke - 4 1/2, I also had to wait.

Decent argument can be made that you got screwed. I'd expect most normally a ref would just call the game, not have Utes return from locker room...they had no hope of winning, the game was over. I'd expect most longtime bettors know thats the end of the stick we usually get in these types of affairs.

The kid got sent to the line amidst the celebration, the high of winning the game following the several minutes it took for the ref to orchestrate the correct path: shoot the freethrows. It was obvious the kid's focus wasn't there on the first freethrow, I consider it amazing that he sunk the second freethrow....after as distracted he looked on the firstbrick.

You musta bet that late, Utah +6. Remember...Duke was up by 15 not too awful long before Utes managed to get back in it/Duke managed to let a team get back in it.........yet again.

Maybe the push here wasn't that bad.

For me it worked out like "free insurance" lol. and the drama omg

Just like a photo finish in a horserace, nothing will get paid till the result is official. I wonder if anyone managed to sneak by though...if they logged it at 5 pts. then before they could pull it back....? Interesting thought anyways.

What people forget is after utah clawed their way back into it duke was up 7 with like ~20 seconds and utah took it the floor and the duke defense let him go right thru the lane for an uncontested layup. This is where I started to feel good about having utah +5.5. Now duke is inbounding and utah forces a turnover, now im like great. They inbound and take a AWFUL fast shot that barely takes anytime off the clock allowing for duke to get the ball back with 6 or so seconds left.

Had Utah +9 in a teaser and was pretty pleased I didn't have to worry about whether they would shoot the shots or not.

Felt very shady though, 99% of the time the game is called right there.

Naw I didn't forget none of that stuff, suffered through all of it....I was the opposite of you when you was "great" at the traveling call (the turnover you mention) I was like "oh shit" thinkin' I'd just watched my parlays die, the Duke -5.5 one right there, the -4.5 one directly...as Utes had the ball now down just 5.

Utes had to get a quick shot up there then foul...they was down 5. My outlook was: they get a 2 there putting them down by 3, foul immediately and my best hope is both FTs made Duke up by 5 again Utes gotta go for the 3. It looked bleak for me.

Utes just couldn't convert when they needed to most. They had some decent looks at 3's.
