Wild Bill...I support your sentiments wholeheartedly, but this is just another hideous left wing lie and the usual scare tactic about the reality of the situation.First off if came down to the mother or the baby doctors would be able to cover up the situation easyily enough. 2ndly there is enough pre birth know how to tell if there are going to be problems before hand.
My point on the other thing is they can and do now take dna sample of fetuses so they can see if there are going to be any birth defects so they can abort if the kid is going to be a retard or have a serious physical defect....but where does this stop? Will the kid have to have an IQ of 112 and be of blonde hair and blue eyes for some parents or societys to be given its life?....MMMM??

Believing in God just in case, even if it defies critical thinking and logic, does not serve to "save your soul." I would retort that it just serves to supress independent thought.

Anyways I am pretty wavering. I just cant figure out the right solution. I am repulsed by abortion for those who use it to make up for drunken mistakes (especially those who do it over and over again), but it all depend on the context. I would like to know more about adoption, and why girles dont want to dot it. Itf one feels unfit to parent, then what prevents them from giving the baby up? Is there enough supply for the demand?

I wish I could find a picture of a unwanted child growing up in poverty and forced into a way of life that lands him in jail or dead. But those pictures aren't available, however our prisons are full of them. You will probably say at least they had a chance, but you nor I know that.

Is your entire argument based on this stereotype? This is no better than partisian politics, really. For instance, I am against murdering Iraqis (has nothing to do with oil IMO), I am against murdering babies (abortion), I do not participate in religion, and I generally vote democrat. Inconcievable? Not really, in fact, to me it seems inconsistant to be pro-murder sometimes.

Well you most likely won't agree with my solution (you won't be alone) but I have often thought that if there were a way to sterilize infants at birth (or anytime before they are sexually mature) in a procedure that could be reversed at a time when they are mature enough and prepared mentally and financially to take on this awesome responsibility. And yes this would require some way of determining if they were fit. So some would be allowed to reproduce and some would not, but wouldn't that be a more acceptable alternative and if not why?
I am not pro abortion believe me, but a woman must have a right to make choices about her own body.

That solution sounds a little Communist China-ish for my liking, but you may not be too far off. Common sense say we'll have a population problem in a few generations, and there will much debate on these types of issues.

I'm talking more "for the good of society" than the "good of the mother" here.
