I'd argue for it, but I would understand that it is a 3-way tie, so our 10 point win doesn't mean much.
I don't blame Texas for arguing their point, but to think it is a clear cut decision is stupid.

FYI. Texas is NOT the second best team in the country.
Watch the teams and you will see that Texas isn't in the top 2 or 3 or 4.

dude you have issues. texas beat oklahoma (the third best team in the country) on a neutral field by 10 points.

i can feel myself getting dumber reading what you post.

Using tiebreakers from any other major conference Texas would be playing for the conference title and a shot at the national championship tonight. But the Big 12 didn't count on the fifth tiebreaker ever coming into play so they kept the "highest-ranked in the BCS" rule in effect, and all teams in the conference knew about it.

So Texas probably did get screwed, but they lost all right to complain about it the moment Michael Crabtree stepped into the end zone. If they had taken care of business in Lubbock -- if Blake Gideon had just held on to that damned gift of an interception -- there would be no debate at all. Texas sitting at home tonight isn't the BCS's fault and it's not the Big 12's fault, it's Texas' fault.

So two teams that could beat the Longhorns are playing, and, yeah, Texas most likely "deserves" to be in the game. But like Clint Eastwood in "Unforgiven" said, "Deserve's got nothin' to do with it."

That is not true. The ACC has the same tiebreaker as the Big 12 (according to Beebe).

It is probable better also. It gives the conference the best shot to get a team into the championship game the way the system is set up.

also, a team in the top 4 of BCS automatically qualifies.
also, no more than 2 teams in one conference can make the BCS

where does that leave TTech? mad??

come on, TTech was destroyed by OU. they were shown to be a farce. Almost losing at home to Nebraska and Baylor confirmed it. Tech played a good game versus Texas, no doubt. They had Texas coming off 3 big games, night game in Lubbock, and pulled out a last second win.

But comparing teams, Texas is better

You can't say they are better as they did beat them. The game was not as close as that score indicates. Either way Texas Tech has as much to complain about as Texas.

Then why did they lose to a very bad Texas Tech team (longhorn fans say they suck)????

it is clear as day. if kansas was the number 2 team in the country after beating oklahoma on a neutral field and they both had top 10 S.O.S. then they should remain over oklahoma.

it is crystal clear.

UT beat Oklahoma on a neutral field by 10 and jumped them in the rankings. at no point should they be passed by oklahoma unless 1. they have played a horrible schedule or 2. they add a second loss to their record.

other wise it is all head to head and 45-35 prevails.

the problem with the system is people like you. sorry to say it but anyone who does not give credence to a head to head victory on a neutral field is part of the problem.

dense dense dense....

they lost to a good tech team... a top 10 tech team in lubbock on a last second play.

the fact that you keep asking these stupid questions makes me think i am talking to a 12 year old girl who does not know how many points a field goal is worth.

No, the problem is with biased fans like you. Your team does not have any claim over both 1 loss Big 12 teams other than a 1-1 H2H record which washes itself out. Your schedule was nowhere near as good as Oklahoma's.

The right team is in there, end of story.

you have to realize it wasn't between 2 teams.

Repeat it wasn't between 2 teams.

Texas LOST to Texas Tech (which according to you is one of the worst possible losses you could have.

It was not a 2 way tie

it was b/w 3 teams...

the number 2, 3, and 7 teams in the country.

all 3 had significant wins..

tech beat texas in lubbock by 6
oklahoma beat tech by a ton in norman
texas beat oklahoma by 10 on a neutral field

the most impressive victory belongs to texas
the least impressive victory (even though it was still damn impressive) belongs to tech
the strength of schedule belongs to texas

tech would be in the conversation had they not played a shit schedule. even with that they deserve to be in the conversation but everyway you slice it with them in the conversation they end up 3rd.

So explain why the least impressive victory belong to Tech considering how Texas was lucky to even be in that game? Only in burnt orange glasses is that the least impressive victory.

The real loser in all of this is Texas Tech who gets no BCS shot even though they beat Texas.

SOS belongs to Oklahoma overall, try again.

What other team beat not 1 but 2 BCS Big 6 champions? They also beat a TCU squad who dominated a BCS bound & undefeated Utah squad everywhere but the scoreboard.

no offense man. respond how you will but anyone who disagrees that a head to head win b/w 2 teams in the top 3 in the bcs and in strength of schedule should not be the determining factor is definitely part of the problem with college football.

The reason it was the least impressive (again it was massively impressive, just the least impressive) was because they did it at home on a last second touch down.

Like I said, it was impressive without a doubt. I was blown away but it was at Lubbock and Texas beat Oklahoma by more and on a neutral field.

You always reference NON factors when talking about these things.

1. The Tech game was not as close as the score would tell you - Of course this is false, they won at the last second of the game. If not for a missed interception they would have lost outright... that is pretty close.

at the end of the day it is cut and dry. that is why we all want a playoff. let it be decided on the field. texas beat oklahoma by 10 on a neutral field.

done deal.

Facts:

Oklahoma defeated another BCS Conference Champion, Texas did not.

Oklahoma was more impressive in beating the Big 12 top teams overall

MOV: OSU (20 VS 4) TT (44 vs lost by 6) Mizz (TBD vs 25)

Defeated 5 ranked teams (inc tonight) vs only 3 for Texas

Only a biased Longhorn fan says Texas has played a better schedule.

Texas was lucky to even be in the game as they were dominated for most of the game. The computers might say it is least impressive but to an unbiased person it isn't.
