Only teams with title chances are: UF, PSU, Alabama, Texas, Tech, OU, and USC. Every other team is eliminated pretty much. The team that needs the most help is USC because they need the North to win the Big 12 and Penn St to lose a game, then they would play bama or uf for the title.

USC needs Oregon St to lose too. USC should not play for the MNC if OSU wins the Pac10

i would think the only way Texas gets to MNC is to win the big12 champ game and the only realistic way for that to happen is for TTech to lose against OkSt and Okla. If that happens, then all the tiebreaks go Texas' way. If Texas gets into a 3way tie for first, Oklahoma will end up going.

If teams like Bama and TTech lose a game (possible), Texas wont move up to #2. Teams like OU and UF will leap them.

If a miracle happens and PennSt loses, then all bets are off :)
Texas has to hope for Texas Tech to lose this weekend. And then for OU to beat OSU. That would leave OU-Texas. And Texas would win the head to head. I think this is a real possibilty. Texas isn't out of it at all. I think they have as good a chance as anybody in the Big 12. BUT.. OSU has to beat TT. So this is a big week in the Big 12 South & Texas.

True, but I assume the Beavers will lose a game. They still have Cali, Oregon and UCLA left. Not amazing teams, but I think Cali and Oregon are probably better teams.

I'm hearing more and more the possibilty that an undefeated Penn State could get leapfrogged in the BCS polls by a one loss team. The only thing that could possibly save them is the Joe Pa factor and this being his last hurrah. So they could get some sympathy votes.. But it's going to be very close in the voting.

I couldn't disagree with that more. No way in hell will an undefeated Big 10 team get leapfrogged by a 1 loss team, or at least they shouldn't. I will be the first to say Florida, Texas, Oklahoma and USC are all better teams than Penn St, but NONE should go ahead of the Lions if they go 12-0. That would be absolutely ridiculous and would really hurt college football. I might actually join the playoff bandwagon if they did that, and I couldn't be any more against it right now.

Penn St should be in the title no matter what if they win out, simple as that.

Joe Pa has had four Penn State teams who have gone undefeated and didn't win the title. So this isn't anything new. This is why he's been pushing for a playoff system for many years. Should they go to the BCS title game if they remain undefeated? Yes. Will they go is another story. Their going to have to finish the season off in convincing style.

why PennSt and not...Boise? the Big10 is just not that good. PSU was the better of the not that good conference.

same could be said for Boise.

why is PSU so special?

then again, it just gives me another betting opportunity against a big10 team in the MNC game......so have at it
