It's kind of a mini SF Bay area with Dell computer located there with other high tech firms. There are lotsa college kids from UT (65k enrolled) and other universities. Mix in an eclectic music scene (Austin City Limits) and our state goverment and you get their number one slogan, as seen on bumper stickers and such. Keep Austin Weird

Unless it's weed, I don't believe you can legally smoke in Austin within sight of another human.
