I think Arkansas is going to try some trick plays and also probably try to line Matt Jones up at receiver. Houston Nutt usually has completely open practices, but has closed them off this week. That's the reason I think you'll see everything Arkansas has in it's bag of tricks. Jones arm is suspect, but supposedly (big supposedly here) new passing coordinator Witke has corrected a few of his mechanics and he's shown a lot of improvement. When he lines up at receiver, you'll see Sorahan at QB.

Great point and counter point on this thread. I think it's a great thread for the game and full of helpful or persuasive points whatever side you are on.

For me the difference is simple.
Texas has tremendous players at all the skilled positions on both sides of the ball, they have the home crowd behind them, and they are probably still a little upset by Nutt's gamesmanship a few years ago at the end of the game. Texas has the ability to score and score often with it's players, again on both sides of the ball.

Arkansas has heart and skill and great players as well. The problem in the game is going to be that Ark is too one dimensional and will get into SERIOUS trouble if/when Texas get's the early lead on them. Arkansas has great corners, but do they have 4 or 5 of them. That is what they are going to need to cover everyone the horns throw at em'.

Texas has had a ton of time to prepare for this game, and they will jump on Ark early and force them out of there game plan.

Good luck, it's gonna be a hoot either way.

This quote by Ivan Maisel of ESPN says it all

in the "for argument's sake" portion of his ESPN writings...he states...

"Everyone knows how good the Horns are. Nobody ever realizes how good the Razorbacks are."

Dan---enough talking trash amongst us rivals. When Monday rolls around, well see who is still breathing and who is walking around with their foot in their mouth.

Your Hogs are my 2nd fav. tm after my Goofers (was in a quandry in LY Bowl gm). And I wish you luck Sat.. Ark. is 3-8 ATS L 11 against Tx. If this gets to 13.5 will buy the hook and take Hogs @ 14. You are right about AR DB`s but so is Tx, ranked 2nd by some. And TX has a great D line. Tuff sledding. Brown sure can recruit, now if he could get the coaching part down. The game day coaching edge definately goes to Mr. Nutt. LOL

NTexes---Trash talking is what makes it fun. Nothing personal. I think Texas has a great team. That's why Hog fans are so fired up. You should take it as a compliment. I'll be here next week to take my lumps if we get beat.
Good luck to you in all your picks except this one.

Silver--you're opinion is always appreciated. I think you can find the 13.5 some places.

Well call in the dogs and piss on the fire cause this hunt is over. We don't have a chance without Jones.
I hope this is a coaches ploy and not for real.

Good Golly!

If that is true, we better jump on the horns before this thing gets up over 14. If Ark comes in banged up and everyone knows it.. I think money that was on the fence will flow over to the Tex side of things.

Don't want to win against a banged up bunch so they can say "yeah, but...". We just wanna pound em' with the best they got!

Jones looked alright to me. That was a shitty attempt at a mind game by Coach Nutt. He should've come out and said that Jones was ok.

Mac Brown is and always has been the biggest bullsh**ter in CFB. I hated him at UNC and knew Texas would NEVER win a national championship under him.. Interesting debate, took Arkansas +14 fwiw.

As I said when I posted earlier, and you can check me on posts of UT games. Living here in Dallas I see them win the recruiting wars every year. They have more talent than just about any school in the country. But coaching kills. They had a week off to get ready for Arkansas and once again the laid an egg. For those of you who believed that against NMSU they played it close to the vest, yeah right. They were tooth and nail for the first qtr and a half of that game. Today's game was not as close as the score indicated as the hogs dominated in AUSTIN. There were close to 20K hog fans at the game, reminded me of those days at the SWC tourney in Dallas.

Let me let you know my affiliation, I'm a PAC10 guy but know a lot of the kids in that get recruited in this area, especially my Mack. I'm not an Ag or Sooner. I talk to him often during the recruiting season. Spent time last night at the LH game here in Dallas with one of his recruiting coordinators swapping notes on a couple of players that ASU is looking at. He's a good guy and he has a solid recruiting staff. But this team in this conference will not win the big game with him coaching. He is not a big game coach and cannot manage his talent.

Just my opinion.
I hope you Horn backers play nicely with the Hog fans as they celebrate on 6th street tonight.

Thanks Arnie
Arkansas executed a good game plan, and Texas didn't have their A game on Saturday. Surely they're better than they showed, or they are way overrated. I made a little cash off of the game, but would've made a lot more if the coach didn't pull that "Jones is hurt" crap.
Now if we can just beat Bama, it'll make my year.
