Tim wins with relative ease. Reality check for del Potro as JJ steam roll him, lost that games line. 5d must be happy as that games line went from -115 to -190!!

i wouldn't be too harsh on Tursunov guys. He's a solid baseliner. I would question his post-US Open scheduling--he has played a lot of tennis ytd (including doubles). Clearly was off in Asia. One poster at another forum mentioned he was 'very tired' at Moscow, lethargic. He clearly went thru the motions today in the second set as NO WAY Vliegen has the game to beat him 6-1 when Tursy has his head in the match. Just my 2-cents.

syd---gee, not sure why JJ was given claerance to this event, good question. Didn't get a WC, maybe 'injury given' as he has been out all of this yr and given where he was (previous ranking) i do believe the ATP (like the PGA) has some 'medical rule' where you have limited tourney clearance based on previous ranking and sustained injury. Not sure if this makes any sense, i dont think i'm wording this correctly, lol.

GUYS! BIG PLAY FOR WEDNESDAY ON HAAS -144....GRAB IT!!!

what's your reasoning behind the play as a big one, madcapper?

revenge for Austria?

At first glance that line does appear a little low, i'm wondering why.

Hrbaty has played okay of late, altho he has NOT served well of late. Didn't serve good at all at Vienna and the stats have carried over Madrid, yucky in his first round match Vs Monfils where he was fortunate that Gail had to retire. But, Tommy has done absolutely squat since the US Open , including a disturbing Davis Cup loss to Udomchoke on clay, wow. Worse, is that these two have met 3 times on THIS SURFACE and Hrbaty has won all 3 times, infact he has beaten Tommy 4 of the last 5 meetings.

why do you liek it so much? If I HAD to pick, i'd take Tommy as well, this being a TMS event, motivation should be big. With current form way up in the air, who knows.

thoughts?

I like Haas and really dislike Hrbaty. He would have got killed by Monfils if not for Monfils retiring. He has a bad history vs Hrbaty but tomorrow he will win in straights.

Thanks for the explanation Hope1 re JJ getting the direct entry into this event. The only thing I could think of was him getting a protected ranking, but I thought that it might have expired after a certain amount of time.

Del Potro had plenty of chances to break JJ's serve despite JJ thundering down 17 aces. He was up 00-40 on JJ's first service game of the sewcond set and couldnt convert. A quick 2-0 lead might have helped us out of the sweatbox re your games bet and my set betting.

For what its worth, tonight I love Mario Ancic against Ginepri. I loved him @ -179( Pinny ) this morning, and love him even more @ -169 now. Ancic has far too much at stake not to perform tonight as he needs to keep winning to get a start in Shanghai, and Ginepri has underperformed all year ( or perhaps he overperformed summer 2005 ).

I also like Soderling ( -181 & playing great tennis at present ), giving Berdych ( -196 ) one more chance, and favouring Davydenko ( -184 ) over JJ.
