Tennessee is breaking in a new QB and a new coordinator. They are playing in what has traditionally been of the toughest places to play. UCLA has a long history of being a great home underdog. Neuheisal has been a great dog as a coach as well. UCLA has covered 10 straight as a home underdog of 7 points or more and 9 straight as a home underdog. They always play well against the SEC covering 5 straight. Everyone points to their QB situation but they are starting a guy who started 5 games at San Diego State. Neuheisal now has one of the best coaching staffs in the country with Norm Chow at OC and retaining the outstanding DeWayne Walker as the DC. The UCLA defense is legit and should keep UCLA in the game all day. In a game that should be a low-scoring game with points hard to come by that could magnify the spread in this game which I got at over a touchdown. Chow knows as well as anyone how to handle a new QB. This is a huge game for UCLA and Neheisal can coach. It's not easy to break in a new QB and a new system on the road and that's what Tennessee will be trying to do.

Now, with all that being said, Tennessee could win this game by 50 and may do so. If they do, no big deal, I had a great weekend going 4-0 Saturday and 1-0 yesterday with Kentucky. It's just one game of many I will have this college football season and going 5-1 won't break my heart I can tell you that. I just like the situation for UCLA today and I am not sold that Tennessee can come into what has been a very tough place to play and just walk over a good defensive team that will be inspired.

Someone posted last night that you wouldn't be able to find a 7.5 tomorrow that the line would be 8 to 8.5. Well, I guess he was half right. I don't know why UCLA is going to even both going to the Rose Bowl tonight. They have no chance. The books have set a bad line folks. A monday night prime-time labor day game and the books have made this line? Vegas is asleep at the wheel. Tennessee should be at least a 21 point favorite.

Two things...
1) Vegas doesn't set the lines anymore. Lines are out offshores much sooner than they are in Vegas.

2) If you think oddsmakers or people in Vegas are EVER asleep you need your head checked.

So why has this line settled back down at 7 instead of moving up to 8? I mean, everyone thinks Tenn is gonna blows the doors off UCLA in this game and it sticks at a TD spread? :think2:

Something tells me we might end up seeing about 20 "WTF TENN" threads later tonight
Because when large betting syndicates want to move a number and then pound it they can. Watch it pop back up to 7.5 or 8.

Little buddha, my post was sarcasm. I had UCLA in this game. I was mocking a poster who had said that "Vegas was asleep at the wheel". Yes, I know where the lines are set. My post was complete saracasm. I saw everyone all week post about how Tennessee would run away with this game. Everytime I saw a new post about how easy Tennessee would win/cover I felt better.

Tenn got out coached.

If you look at UCLA on defense and how they had the different blitz packages it confused the Tenn O line.

What I really did not understand with Tenn on Defense with their secondary playing way off on the wide outs. If Tenn secondary is so fucking good why the hell were they playing so far back? This really did not make any sense.

When Tenn. fumbled the ball inside the 10 this was a real changing point in the game. They get by 2 TD then that makes UCLA play more catch up.
I think Tenn scores there they run away with the game.

O well

I was up 6.6 units and let it all ride on Tenn.
