i can remember a few years ago at a bucs game watching him warm up . he was barely flicking his wrist and throwing the ball 40 yards about head high all the way.

what a gun he had ..

Although it happens, you rarely see a murder-suicide where the person committing suicide is the woman. I always thought McNair was vastly underrated as a QB and leader.

Look, I'm sorry the guy is dead...I think he played the game the way it was meant to be played, took some vicious hits that I didn't think he'd get up from, was a great leader, someone his team rallied around.

But to call him "one of the all time greats" is laughable. He probably isn't in the top 50 of all time NFL QB's.

Horrible. I don't know about you guys/gals but when I was a lot younger I thought I was immortal. I could take all kinds of risks and I'd live to see another day. Now that I'm only a couple years shy of sixty, I feel like I'm lucky to be alive. It's pretty shocking how immune we get to all the bad stuff that goes on every day. Then a week like this comes along and it's a wake up call to just how fragile life is.

Police said a woman was also shot dead.

McNair was 36 and played 13 seasons before retiring in April 2008. Police spokesman Don Aaron said officials tentatively identified the woman, but did not release her name. He confirmed she wasn’t McNair’s wife, Mechelle.
