they should not refund your bet (if the rules state as such) but they should have taken it down as soon as he notified everyone that he was skipping the event. keeping it up is simply to collect some extra money

SIA pulled Phil, cloudbet pulled Phil, as did the rest I checked so clearly it's just a money grab at this point. Tony might as well toss on Tiger Woods at 100/1 and Ben Hogan at 1000/1 to see if he can get a few extra dollars...fn scumbag

i use to like 5 dimes but they having been having some problems here in the last yrs or so, i would say heritage or bookmaker now is better than 5 dimes

Golf

General:

  1. If the start of a round is delayed, or if play during a round is suspended, all pending wagers will remain valid for 48 hours. If the postponement lasts more than 48 hours, all pending wagers will be canceled and the monies refunded.
  2. Wagers on a golfer who does not play in the tournament are graded as No Action, and all monies refunded.
  3. A golfer is deemed to have played once he or she has teed off. In the event of a player withdrawing after having teed off, wagers on that player will be lost.
  4. Wagers will be settled using the official tournament and match results (including final match correct score and individual match betting). This includes a match which finishes early, either by agreement of the players or because of injury.

In match-ups and futures, wagers on golfers NOT teeing off to begin an event will be graded no action unless otherwise noted. Wagers will not be refunded on any option where "all golfers have action" is listed.

So we would need to see the ticket...

I've seen this at other books as well.

and Agree that phil should have been taken down, BUT Again I've seen this before at other shops, and Not just this sport.

Same thing happened with Dustin Johnson and the Masters. He hurt his back and Will Hill in Vegas would not refund. On a side note I've been done with 5Dimes for about 6 months now. I had to cancel two credit cards due to getting fraudulent charges I know was due to them. Be done with them they aren't worth it.

This. I placed my DJ bet at Bookmaker and remember being concerned and posted a thread here. I forget the specifics but there was concerning wording in the rules, i recall. But after Round 1 was complete Bookmaker ended up refunding. ...see if I can find the thread....

...here is the DJ thread...

Here was the Bookmaker wording in their rules, but again, refund was issued.

**Well, in case there's someone else with Bookmaker in this situation.. Their House Rules didn't sound encouraging. Something like "all future wagers are treated as "all in" or "entered not entered". Stakes are lost on a future bet if a selection does not take part..."}

My wager was made under this prop....and again, I'm not really complaining about the wager not being refunded , even though , I don't agree with it.. my problem is leaving Phil up when you know that all you're doing is collecting free money.

I can see them refunding your ticket either
1) After the 1st round when PHil doesnt tee off
2) After 1st round cuts (either friday or sat)
3) After open is finished (either sunday or monday)

Its like betting on a starting pitcher who got scratched. Sometimes the money doesnt get refunded until the game goes off

Good luck

tony from 5dimes ALWAYS does the right thing for his players in a quiet, classy
way and would NEVER take a shot or play an angle on them. when they
define the term gentleman gambler in wikipedia, they use tony's name and picture.

Unless you work for him, you could not be more wrong....he is a classless asshole....

LOL at everyone completely missing the point of this thread. It was not about how they graded that wager, it was about them leaving Phil up.

Also funny how no one can pick up on sarcasm regarding 5dimes and the way they operate.

Some illiterate mofos around here.

Phil never officially withdrew until the morning of the US Open. Why wouldnt they leave him up? (yeah i know it was unlikely he wasnt going to play)

Bingo. And if you made a bet on him after he announced he probably wasn't playing, that's on you.

It was graded as a loss.. I made my bet on May 31st. not complaining . had a good tournament . Koepka at 48/1 overshadowed the Phil play by a long shot.
