"Sweden in the last 3 days had 657 cases yesterday, 831 cases on October 7th and 657 cases on October 6th.
Their 7 day average has increased from 162 on September 1st to a whopping 568 as of yesterday October 8th.
The importance is that their 7 day average has increased almost by 10% in 3 days, and this roughly 10% increase has been happening every 3-5 days since the beginning of September.
All of this proves they have not reached herd immunity nor anywhere near it, if they were anywhere close to it the number of cases would be going down (lower) on a continuous trend instead of what we are seeing.

"Damn the science denying "Stable Genius" crowd, you all have the same commonality of not retaining, or understanding any information that you read, specifically if you have a predisposition on it formed from your biased & non factual way of thinking.
Here is a thread that I've explained the great similarities of Nordic countries to one another and the differences to other European countries from them, there is also articles linked in there that also touches on the point of sociological norms from Nordic countries to one another and the difference to other European countries.

If you lived in Europe and you didn't understand the undeniable similarities of Nordic countries to one another and their difference to the rest of Europe you lived an uninformed life. Even after this has been explained to you numerous times in different threads it's astonishing that you still do not understand this. One would have to be completely oblivious to it's surroundings and facts to not understand this.
Not that I expect you to understand or retain any of the information from the posts or articles in that thread.

Now your turn to answer the previous questions which you don't have a logical response for.

The scientific data shows the rate of transmission in both Sweden and Denmark is very similar proving your non factual theory to be false. Please do explain how you view Denmark to be in a 2nd wave yet you view Sweden's number of cases to be on a downslope and it being proof of Sweden reaching herd immunity?
Please also do explain how you originally thought the reduced number of deaths was proof of herd immunity?

Sweden is now acknowledging that its no lockdown policy was a public health disaster and is getting ready to impose some lockdowns, although they're going to try to make them voluntary at first. They didn't come anywhere close to herd immunity and their per capita death rate compared to neighbours Norway and Finland (who did lock down) is about 20 times higher. Here's the per capita deaths per million population as reported on statista.com:

United States - 676
Sweden - 582

Sweden is a failure. A bit worse than the USA, but then again the USA has no real national strategy, a president who openly calls public health experts "idiots" and a huge percentage of the population who simply won't adhere to guidelines even when they're issued.

They have different views than you, and thats ok.

From your BBC article:

"The advice for the general population includes avoiding large gatherings - such as busy restaurants - frequent hand-washing, social distancing and working from home if possible, the BBC's Maddy Savage reports.

Uppsala, north of Stockholm, became the first region to introduce tougher local rules on Tuesday, with all residents advised to avoid physical contact with those they don't live with.

Sweden " recorded its highest tally of deaths in the first half of 2020 for 150 years, the Statistics Office said on Wednesday."

"... COVID-19 meant that deaths were some 10 percent higher than the average for the period over the last five years, the Statistics Office said. In April the number of deaths was almost 40% higher than average due to a surge in COVID-related fatalities.

"... The economy of Finland also outperformed its larger neighbour (=Sweden) in the second quarter, despite a tougher lockdown. Finland’s gross domestic product shrank around 5% against an 8.6% contraction in Sweden from the previous three-month period.

1) Sweden's strategy has not gone well. Sweden has way more total deaths than their 3 Nordic neighbours combined who mandated shutdowns. While Sweden has a 50% larger population than the 3 of them combined. And Sweden is no better off economically. It seems lockdowns were the superior choice.

2) Sweden has not achieved "herd immunity". Infections have spiked and risen 300% there recently.

3) Sweden's approach was - and still is not - to let or encourage everyone to live as they normally do to achieve "herd immunity". As per the strategy described in the OP. In practice what Sweden did was a soft lockdown.

4) If C-19 had been treated as just another flu - without extreme safety measures (e.g. lockdowns, social distancing, masks, contact tracing, etc) there would be 10 million dead already from C-19 infections instead of 1/10 th of that. Furthermore, many hospitals would have been overwhelmed leading to many non C-19 related deaths also.

Sweden thought they were going to reach herd immunity months ago. They were wrong! Their strategy was a colossal fuck-up failure.

Sweden had 1 death yesterday, 8 the day before. They did it right.

That's nothing. New Zealand had 0 reported - infections - & deaths for over 100 days & returned to normal life.

Sweden's 3 Nordic neighbours continue to destroy Sweden as they did in the early pandemic. In November they crushed Sweden's performance badly.

The 3 countries combined - Norway, Sweden & Denmark - have 17 cities over 100K population. Sweden only has 9.

"Sweden has way more total deaths than their 3 Nordic neighbours (Norway, Finland, Denmark) combined while Sweden has a 50% larger population than the 3 of them combined. And Sweden is no better off economically. Clearly hard lockdowns, as occurred in those 3 nations, were the superior choice to Sweden's soft voluntary isolation approach.

Sweden dead = 5,918
Norway dead = 278
Finland dead = 346
Denmark dead = 677"

So Sweden's approach was a colossal failure.

No wonder they been moving toward more restrictions recently. They finally woke up to the truth. Which also explains their recent lower death count, lol.

On March 17th 2021, Sweden's daily COVID death rate was 1.84 per million and Canada's was .81 per million.

As of May 16th 2021, Sweden's daily COVID death rate is 1.44 per million and Canada's is 1.25 per million.

The only relevant comparison of whether or not Sweden failed is with its Nordic neighbours:

"Denmark, Norway and Finland, with a combined population of around 16.75 million, have recorded 4,331 deaths attributed to coronavirus as of Thursday (259 per million). All three enforced lockdowns early on in the pandemic. Sweden, by contrast, has registered 12,798 deaths, and possesses a population 10.2 million, meaning it has a far higher death rate than its immediate neighbors (1,255 per million), according to Johns Hopkins University data."

Any other comparisons are not between apples & apples, but between an apple & banana peels, figs & rotten grapes.

Yup, Sweden = a colossal covid failure.

:)

"There are a lot of problems comparing countries that are far away from each other and have very different health and support infrastructure. So this is fine for what it is, but you can't get too caught up in it.
That's why Sweden was normally compared to the other Scandanavian/Nordic countries who took different approaches. That gave a slightly more realistic natural experiment.
(They fare badly there as well.)"
