the funny thing is the polls are showing that america is blaming the republicans in regards to the stimulus for there lack of ability to work with obama. im telling you, the republican movement in this country is dead with all the horrible publicity they get. rightfully so as well.

Bring back getting whacks when they get out of line in school..Thats most the problem with some of these kids these days they need to respect authority & behave in school & "counciling" doesnt cut it...Make them wear uniforms like they do in our schools up here also would help.

Agree 100% and when the parents come bitching tell them to take their kid and hit the bricks.

I think we need less spending on education. The government screws up
just about everything it gets it's hands on.

Get rid of the public school system altogether, and privatize it -
competition would force the educators to be efficient.

Only if you measure efficiency by the ability to churn out students who score well on standardized tests. Not only is that not education, it actually does violence to education by substituting the ability to regurgitate homogenized and discrete facts for independent thinking. Want to know who the stupidest kids on campus are (besides the baseball players)? They're the ones who took all those SAT prep classes and did super great on their exit exams and now can't manifest an original thought if their life depends on it.

while his rating is high, it's also dead average for a new president.

Yawn...so it's not a historic high at all...just what you would expect of a new President...and in the range of ...average.

Bush I is the historic high of recent Presidents...smashing Obama's popularity at 76%.

Yeah, you're right. I shoulda said "recent historic high" or something like that. I wanted to draw attention to the facts that 1)his approval ratings fly in the face of some of the rhetoric around here and 2) his approval ratings are higher at this point of his administration than those of the two most recent ex-presidents.

Public education doesn't need more money. The Atlanta Public school System spends over $10K per student and that school system produces some of the dumbest kids on the face of the planet. My aunt was the State School Superintendent and we would argue about how the school system needing more funding. She got it and it didn't produce a damn thing except higher taxes. We need school vouchers so schools compete for students, the teachers unions don't like competition and they don't want to be held accountable.

Nice try Kiln, but your little story here has no basis in truth.

Making up stupid little stories is fun huh?

Save the bullshit for somewhere else.

Cutting and pasting, and making up little stories with no
factual basis.

Yawn.

I can be rightly accused of a lot of things, but making up data is not one of them. I don't need to make them up. It's all very readily available. Now I understand that many here don't like the numbers, but that's no reason to devolve to the Repuglican tactic of blaming the messenger. It makes you look childish, insincere, and, most of all, afraid.
