I think it was a terrible call because it wasn't your typical grounding play.

In most grounding plays the QB just throws chunks it about the only place they can while under heavy pressure.

In this case, Brady could have easily thrown it to any receiver he wanted, but CHOSE to throw it downfield away from everyone to play it safe.

He was under pressure but that's not the reason he threw it downfield and could have just as well thrown towards a receiver if he had wanted to...
