ot-Talk about setting an amazingly accurate over/under line.

How about the over/under of 324 1/2 for the NBA All-Star Game and it landing on 323!!

I say that because of the crazy rule after the third quarter of taking the total of the team leading at the end of the third quarter,

adding on 24 points and ending the game when either team hits that which tonight was 163, which just complicates setting the

line for the game; suffice it to say, setting a line isn't all that easy to do!!

Extremely difficult and esp. for an NBA All Star when there's no prior games/# of poss./pace, etc. That's why the Vegas pros r full professionals and paid big bucks.

For an NBA All Star, the final scores being next to the Total Line is almost unheard of.....should be investigated for collusion/playing for Vegas/playing while knowing the lines.

Always wonder if pro or college players do they play indirectly relation to the lines. Lines are used by the coaches to motivate their teams esp. if big underdogs.

Maybe it is just coincidence but in college basketball especially I have always wondered why that at times when one team is a significant

double favorite, they either barely cover the line or fall just short of covering.

Along the same lines , in certain cases, it seems that sometimes when a team is say favored by say 25, 30 or even more points,

as you infer, some players use that as motivation to try to cover that line(and maybe even to bet on it) or not to cover it and wager

on and thus trying not to cover.

Money and monetary incentives speak loudly in many aspects of life including betting on sports!!

I don't want to sound too conspiratorial here, but what is also interesting here is that at least at Heritage you were not allowed to buy

points on either the total or side of the game.

At the very least it makes one wonder why not!!
