PROFOOTBALLDOC (19-9-2 for season)
SIC Score is our proprietary numerical injury grading system that incorporates the health of every NFL team and individual players to give sports bettors, DFS players and fantasy owners an edge each week during the season. While it purposely doesn’t take into account coaching, schemes or matchups, SIC Scores give an accurate assessment of team/player overall health heading into a game.
IND @TEN over 41.5
The Colts are the biggest offensive health risers of the week and both team's offenses are healthier than the defenses they face. Jonathon Taylor should be back and healthy and both teams can score in the 20s with key linebackers out.
CLE +6.5 @ BAL
The Ravens continue to be injury ravaged with their SIC score at only 72.6. The Browns strong run game should be able to keep things close against the Ravens whose nose tackle and two linebackers are out. J.K. Dobbins is out with a knee scope related to his multi-ligament knee injury and both offensive tackles have injury issues. The Browns have their own issues but should keep it within a one score game.
GB -4.5 @ WAS
Yes, the Washington starting QB is on IR with a broken finger but our main concern is the offensive line. In addition, no Logan Thomas and unlikely Jahan Dotson leaves the Commanders short handed. The Packers should dominate if they continue with a run first approach.
NYJ -1.5 vs DEN
Our algorithm already had the Jets heavily favored by over 20 SIC score points. Now that Russell Wilson is ruled out, that only gets bigger. The line has moved from NYJ+1 to -1.5 but that is inconsequential. New York has a healthy defense going against Denver minus QB1, RB1 and multiple injured offensive lineman. The Jets have solidified their tackle spots and play a Broncos defense with several key players missing. We certainly didn't see this at the start of the season but a lot has happened since then.
KC -1.5 @ SF
The 49ers seem to be targeting this game to avenge their Super Bowl loss versus the Chiefs where they lead by 10 points in the fourth quarter but lost by double digits. Even with Nick Bosa, Trent Williams and Jimmy Ward targeting this game for a return, Kansas City is the healthier side. The San Francisco defense will be without half their starters playing against a healthy offense. Given the lack of practice time, the late addition of Christian McCaffrey should be inconsequential.
