CONSORTIUM CHOICES

# 9 LONG STORY SHORT 6/5

# 3 BLAZIN BENNY 6/1

# 1 FOX VALLEY STEFFEN 7/2

All signs point to LONG STORY SHORT for the pick. Not many knocks against this standardbred, let's give him a shot. When the trainer Krist puts Dobson up for the drive good things happen. Take a look at the 23 win percent. BLAZIN BENNY - Has a bang-up shot for this race, if he can race to his back racing class. Should be considered here if only for the good TrackMaster Speed Rating earned in the most recent outing. FOX VALLEY STEFFEN - Look for Lappe and this standardbred to dominate for this one. Excellent in the money percentage for the trainer/horse match. If performance in the most recent race is any indicator, this solid standardbred will have a very nice shot for this race. High last race TrackMaster Speed Rating.

The Walker Group Picks

# 1 LA PITIRRE 2/1

# 4 AMOR DESOLADO 5/1

# 8 PLAYA FLAMENCO 15/1

I've got to go with LA PITIRRE. Is a solid choice - given the 59 Equibase Speed Figure from her most recent race. The average class figure alone makes this one a solid choice. With better than average trips to the winner's circle, Robles will most likely have this filly in excellent position to win the contest. AMOR DESOLADO - With Hiraldo aboard her, this mare will most likely be able to break out sharply in here. Have to examine solely on class, with some of the top class figs of this field. PLAYA FLAMENCO - Don't let this filly slip past you. Could prove victorious at big odds. Has been racing in the most competitive company of the group lately.

# 4 LOVE TAKES FLIGHT 8/5

# 6 VALID INFLUENCE 9/2

# 1 SAUCY SHADOW 5/2

I think LOVE TAKES FLIGHT is a very good choice. Should hit the board without a hitch. Have to wager on this filly with the sound earnings per start in dirt sprint races. Looks very good for the conditions of this contest today, showing solid figures in dirt sprint races lately. VALID INFLUENCE - Will most likely be one of the leaders of the bunch going into the midpoint of the contest. Eliott is trying to prove victorious with this entrant by bringing her back so quickly. SAUCY SHADOW - Has been consistently running well recently. I like Chacaltana on this filly to give her a respectable chance to hit the wire first.

Parx Racing - Race #4 - Post: 2:16pm - Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $25,000 Class Rating: 80

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

#1A WELLINGTONS APPEAL (ML=2/1)
#7 FANTASTIC EYES (ML=5/1)

WELLINGTONS APPEAL - Mare took a little vacation, but has been racing into shape. Mare got a healthy speed figure last time she tried this trip. That number would be good enough to win today. Stalking speed. My chums and I like this animal. Last two speed figs (85, 85) were solid. Anything close to that today and this one could win easily. FANTASTIC EYES - Trainer Ryerson moves this animal down in class ranks to face a less competitive field. Look for a solid race racing against these lower level horses.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 OH MY DAR (ML=2/1), #2 ALWAYS DEAR (ML=3/1), #3 CONNOR'S GOLD (ML=4/1),

OH MY DAR - 2/1 odds isn't enough for this horse when checking the most recent efforts. ALWAYS DEAR - Tough to put your money on the win end of any horse that finishes second and third as frequently as this thoroughbred does. This pony ran a common speed rating last time around the track. She shouldn't improve and will likely lose in today's event running that fig. CONNOR'S GOLD - Not easy to play any thoroughbred in a short distance event at 4/1 when she hasn't shown any successful efforts in sprints in the last couple of months. This horse hasn't been around in either of her last couple of races. When checking today's Equibase class figure, she will have to notch a better speed rating than last out to compete in this dirt sprint.

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

#3 LAYCOCK BAY (ML=8/1)
#1 DAGGER TATTOO (ML=10/1)
#8 MAGERO (ML=6/1)

LAYCOCK BAY - I like when a thoroughbred has dropped in class at least 5 points like this one did last time around the track and then runs against a similar field right back. Evans must've found the right level. When Evans gives Juarez a leg up on any thoroughbred, you know full well that with their win percentage you have at least a fighting chance. Gelding won shipping here on Sep 15th and looks good right back. You have to really like that latest race rating, 90, which is the top last race speed figure of this field. Horse has improved at least two speed fig points in last 2 races. I look for that to continue to trend in a positive direction right here. DAGGER TATTOO - Taking a trip to a lower class level; has the ability to make his presence felt. I like to wager on this handicapping angle, a thoroughbred coming back off a sharp effort within the last thirty days. Looking at the PPs, it shows this horse has won at big odds. MAGERO - The improved speed ratings over the last three races is strong. Collier drops him in this race conditioned to win.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 SKIMASCO (ML=5/2), #9 FOLLIA (ML=7/2), #6 TYLER DARLING (ML=9/2),

SKIMASCO - Hasn't been on the Zia Park oval in the last few weeks. Cause for some concern. Finished first in his most recent race with a mediocre speed figure. When I look at today's class rating, it would take an improved performance to triumph after that in this bunch. FOLLIA - 7/2 is not enough of a price to take on this thoroughbred. TYLER DARLING - Speed ratings tell a tale of dropping form.

DRF HARNESS

Race 7 - $30,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (43 - 66 / $151.20): RYLEIGH’S LILLY (7th)

Spot Play: SWISS MOCHA (8th)

Race 1

(3) BI POLAR ROSE will offer the better price of the contenders and looks to be in line for an ideal trip up close. (6) FOX VALLEY YOKO will be another short price looking to make it five of six. (4) SHEZ SO SASSY filly has never been able to compete with the top two but can hit the ticket if she minds her manners.

Race 2

(7) FOX VALLEY BAILEY filly pacer was the driver's choice and has flashed more ability than most of the field. The 2-year-old has been off a month but might not need her best against this group. (5) MISS PROFITABILITY just raced evenly last week against similar; command a price. (6) TEA PARTY TEMPEST showed a decent late burst in the qualifier and finds a field full of question marks.

Race 3

In a race full of trotters that have trouble staying flat, (7) POWERFUL PRINCESS might have the biggest burst of speed but does come off a nasty break late last start. (9) IMA NEW FLYER filly comes into the race off two straight breaks but can trot a good mile if she stays trotting. (2) SURVIVOR DI is in the same boat as the other choices but could be ready for a much better effort.

Race 4

In a tough race to gauge, (4) FANCY'S FALOOSHE gets sent out for capable connections off a decent qualifier. (5) PRINCESS MIMI should be primed for a better effort second start back off the layoff; threat. (1) LOLA GRAM was the driver's choice and gets the best starting post.

Race 5

(1) FEAR two-year-old can beat this bunch if he minds his manners. (6) JD CHEESE has been improving all year long and could have more to offer after breaking his maiden; drivers choice. (2) DR VENKMAN lightly raced trotter has some upside in an inconsistent field.

Race 6

(5) YESSIREEBOB was the driver's choice and has room to improve. (10) LITTLE MAN MORAND comes into the race off a nice qualifier and just needs to find a way into the race for a chance to hit the ticket at a price. (9) CATHERINE'SDIAMOND gets a negative driver change but has been knocking on the door.

Race 7

(6) RYLEIGH'S LILLY is going to be very tough to beat with any kind of pace to close into. (7) FOUR HOUR NAP takes a big step up in class but looks to be in good form. (3) FOX VALLEY CHARM filly raced gamely against older last start and will need a similar effort to hit the ticket.

Race 8

(8) SWISS MOCHA four-year-old gelding finds a weaker field than his last few and just needs a good setup. (6) FIRST REVOLUTION is handicapped by the driver but the 3-year-old can trot up a storm if he stays flat. (4) AGENT BOOTH should offer a big price off some ugly lines. The trotter had some sneaky late trot two back.

Race 9

(9) EVA BELLA filly has been huge in her last three; big chance. (5) ROCKNROLL CRYSTAL is one of few in the race that has shown a decent burst of speed in recent weeks. (3) GET THE TERROR is 0 for the year but is capable of a form reversal any week.

Race 10

In a wide open race, (3) COWGIRL CHIC has been facing tougher and should offer value getting sent out for a low percentage pilot. (4) FOXY ELLIE owns the fastest win in the field on the year and also faces easier. (5) I'M TELLING YOU six-year-old has lacked stamina late in her miles but is capable.
