Verizon Fios contract ends in October and I'm only interested in using them for internet going forward
So I've read through about 5 different threads and pretty sure I just need the Savage/Hustle boxes. I need two for my house and two for my mom
My 2 boxes:
I'm looking for the normal stuff...ESPNs, FS 1/2, NHLN, ACCN, NFLN, SECN, NBCSN, RedZone, and ideally skysports for EPL and BeIn for La Liga. Also need AT&T Pittsburgh for Pens' games. I have 2 TV's that sit right next to each other. The big screen has Verizon FIOS box connected to ethernet and then I have a jailbroke FireStick which is really just for TeaTV which is a fairly poor version of a pirated movie service. I pay for Amazon Prime TV and Netflix 4k version which i access through my Vizio SmartTV feature. I can also access Prime and Netflix through the FireStick on 1080 only (through WiFi) which I plug directly into my receiver.
- I don't care much about locals and free tv (cbs/nbc/abc) but would be good to have access to them for live sports but I don't specifically need the Pittsburgh versions.
- 2nd TV just has live sports rolling on it through a Fire TV box which is hardwired by ethernet. I have a 100 download speed so would prefer to stay away from WiFi sticks as the 4K sports viewing is not far away
- My typical viewing is movie on the big screen and a live sport with no sound on the small screen.
Mom 2 boxes:
Mom needs one for living room and one for bedroom but she is looking for the main cable shows (HGTV, NatGeo, FoxNews, MSNBC, Bloomberg) but they watch a lot of local Myrtle Beach news and then they use my Netflix subscription and a jailbroken FireStick for some movies but they haven't really figured out how to navigate and update TeaTV so pretty much use Prime and my Netflix account. So their obstacle is getting locals in SC as an OTA antenna from the Surfside/Murrels area wouldn't work very well. Likely one TV can get internet with ethernet and the other thru WiFi.
I saw the following:
Bushay - approx. 115/stick, only wifi, + $30/mo. he made mention to having a 60+ page thread on another site but not sure where that is?
Diago - Prodigy Elite, Hustle, or Savage boxes @$300/per with no monthly cost. Was discussion on Google Wifi Mesh but not sure what that is...I can plug any box through the ethernet hub in back of my two TV's (which will provide the max speeds) but my mom's will be in different rooms so probably one ethernet, one wifi
Lanquel - mentioned just having apps like cyberflix and BeeTV on an Android tablet (I assume this is like the old days when I had Kodi on my laptop plugged into tv?)
Raiders - said Nitro IPTV on two sticks $99 for 7 months service
I don't use facebook but can access user forums on my wife's account
(My thought was two boxes from diago but would I need that google mesh since both connected by ethernet? and then one diago box and one firestick for my mom...and then figure out her locals later)
I know we've covered this several times and I read through all the threads...just want to make sure stuff still works, is available ASAP, and meets the needs. I have no issue doing downloads of apps and updates but I'll probably have to set this up for my mom
