I can`t really knock the guy....He did win 24 in a row.

But he had 7 days to make another pick.....Could have put some thought into it for the 100 grand.

Too much pressure

It`s easy for me to say it after he lost.....But he had 7 days to ponder this situation.

Anyways it was a good run.

Smart guy, Green. You're right. I know he was firing away each day with no fear. But when you're one putt away from winning the major, you don't just roll up and fearlessly tap that thing in. You take your time, measure it well, cover your bases and then fire away.

I don't knock him either. But you would think a guy much older than him would step back and then make the decision with calculated calm. I'm sure he's probably thinking that now.

You live and learn. (And then your wife takes half your shit)

Maybe I am crazy and some here may think that, but I don't consider this extremely unrealistic come baseball season. Right now, I give the guy credit but alot of luck has to play into it.

How do you feel about it now ??

and even in bases, those -280's go down too

I would hope during Baseball, they have a limit on picking ML's

Gold St had a complete melt down in 2nd half...0-14 from the 3 point line and for the game Bulls were 21 of 23 and
Gold St was 6 of 12 from the FT line.....just a bad time to be on Gold State.....I didn't check but I bet this is the only
game this year G St was like 0 for 14 from 3 point line in 2nd half...............Guy had a good run just fell 1 short of
Grand Prize but still banked 26 or 27k not bad for a free contest................

You can't get a baseball game over -130 and most the time -120 or less.

It takes some balls or stupidity to fire away so quick on a 100K pick. After that Portland game was cancelled, he put it all on Golden St. that night.

Exactly.....That`s the cut off for MLB survivor plays -120--130.

He had a press conference after the game...LOL.......This is what he wrote.

well, it's finally come to an end. i was on the wrong side this evening. couldn't really cheer for GS in the overtime; i was on the wrong side and didn't deserve to win it. it wouldn't have been just if i'd pulled it out. the whole reason i picked golden state was because i thought they had fresher legs than chicago and would pull away in the last 12-16 minutes of the game, and that didn't happen. chicago was down in the fourth, and they had enough left in the tank to come back, force OT and eventually win it. hats off to them for the HUGE road win against golden state.

i guess i will try to address the other main topics on the thread while people still care about what i have to say. as for hedging, i think i've addressed that as thoroughly as possible. i would feel awful right now if i just made money by being on the wrong side of that game when all the people tailing me lost money. misery loves company, and at least i have provided company to those who tailed me.

as for all those who would like to come out and say 'i told you so,' i've been betting on sports as a primary or secondary means of income since i was 14 years old, and i've never seen a game that had 100% consensus. every game, there will be someone telling you that you've made the wrong pick. sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong. i've told people almost every day, "hey. you may be right today, i may have made a sh!tty pick." today was the day; all the people on the other side were right.

i don't regret not waiting to pick another game. i've said over and over that i wouldn't pick a game unless i was comfortable with it, and i was comfortable with this game. for those of you who thought i should have waited until the super bowl, i've had as many of you argue on behalf of the 'absolute lock patriots win' as the 'absolute lock seahawks win.' i still don't have any major opinion in either direction on the super bowl, and i am glad my $100k decision didn't come down to the circus act that was once a great football game.

that being said, i don't have a single regret throughout this whole process. when the calendar rolled over to 2015, i didn't think anything was going to come of my participation in this contest. instead, i've got a new sense of self-confidence. this is something i've done as a passion, as a hobby for almost half my life. this contest has given me a sense of validation in my abilities that i never thought possible. i never dreamed that people would be reading my thoughts on a game and caring about them. i never dreamed i would be front-page news on covers.com, the best sports research site that i've come across in my 12 years of doing this. i never dreamed i'd be able to go on the all-stars page and see my name at the top as having the longest winning streak of all-time in the streak survivor contest. and above all, i never dreamed i would have such overwhelming support from the covers community, something i've never seen before. typically, people are rude, obnoxious a-holes when they're behind their computer screens. but you have all been so kind and embracing throughout the latter part of my streak, it's unbelievable. i can't begin to explain how appreciative i am for the way you've treated me.

given the odds of picking this many games in a row, i will assume that this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. i would like to thank all of you, but also several others. i want to thank covers for putting on a free contest with this format, and allowing me to have the experience i've had over the last few weeks. i'd like to thank all my friends who have supported me throughout the streak as well, and more than anything, i'd like to thank my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, coaches and my big brother. without all of you surrounding me and providing me with positive examples of the proper way to conduct yourself and treat other people, i think i would have been just another cocky a-hole on this website, and i would not have received the support i have from the rest of the covers community.

most of all i'd like to thank my beautiful wife. she has hated this habit for as long as we've known each other. nonetheless, she could tell how much this meant to me, and she has been supportive and passionate throughout the entire thing. she has been my biggest supporter, and she continues to be the biggest reason why tonight's outcome doesn't bother me. i still have her to plan my life around, so getting an unexpected $25k instead of an unexpected $100k just really isn't a huge deal. i have someone beside me that loves me despite my flaws, and that's something that just doesn't come around that often.

congrats to tuppy, who still has the greatest streak of all-time, because he's the only one who came through in the clutch with $100k on the line. and best of luck to everyone behind me. may you make it at least as far as i have and have this incredible experience as well. have a wonderful evening everyone.

He replied to a few guys after they made a statement to him....

This is from a poster...

Nice run man......But I know you regret not hedging....It made no sense not to...I hope you are smart enough to realize that now in future.....you ain't going to to get many chances in life to guarantee yourself 35k....A guarantee of at least an extra 15k should of happened here....

This is him answering back....
nope. even thought you want me to regret it so badly, i don't. as i've said in the past, my college degree is in finance and i work for a multinational corporation that hedges 100 different commodities. i know the concept, i know the benefits. i don't believe in it under these circumstances, and i don't regret not hedging for one moment. if all the people tailing me that believe in my picks lose money, i want to lose money with them, and that's what happened. i WOULD regret it if all the people tailing me tonight had lost money and i was sitting at home smiling with a drink in my hand because i made guaranteed money before the game ever started. money comes in, and it goes out. integrity and loyalty stick around, and i'm glad i feel fine about those things rather than feeling sh!tty about my guaranteed hedge bet.

He's stupid if he doesn't regret hedging. Also people are telling him how talented he is etc. That is complete bullshit. He made a pick a day every day since the beginning of this year. A lot of luck involved. He fucked up.

Now this poster is an idiot or he`s just being nice.....No way was he on the right side......-9.5 lost straight up....LOL

This from a poster....
I don't think you were on the wrong side necessarily. Golden State missed 4-5 key free throws late in the game that could have sealed the deal and possibly win by 20. Bogut being out was a huge factor, but none the less, despite poor shooting GS still managed to get to that pivotal point in the game where they could have broke it open. Just didn't happen but congrats.

This is true of most every game. If you look at the Alabama-Ohio St. game, there were two plays before halftime that allowed Ohio St. to even have a chance. First one was the pass interference on Bama where the defender had an EASY pick-six, but instead decided to run straight through the back of the receiver instead of stepping to the side and running the other way to the house. That would have made it 28-6 late second quarter, and given OSU a total of six points with three possessions inside the ten. The next was the dropped third down pass that gave Ohio St. the ball back with just enough time to run that fake play with the unbelievable pass from a wide receiver and the unbelievable catch to finish it off. without those two plays, the game is likely 28-6 or worse at the half, and OSU is limiting their inexperienced QB the rest of the game because he has made mistakes when they've opened up the playbook for him. there are always opportunities in every game that would change the outcome. the teams that take advantage of their opportunities (OSU) pick up the win; the teams that do not (BAMA) take the loss. no excuses for me tonight. it may be the only half of the season that golden state doesn't hit a three. doesn't matter. i made the pick for a reason, and that reason turned out to be unsound. it's a loss, and i'll take responsibility for it the same as i would if chicago had come out and won by 30.

I give him credit, but if it were me, I would have just waited for the SB and took the Pats. No way Wilson wins 2 super bowls. NFL will not allow it. They know which side of the bread has butter.

I agree.....I respect his pattern....But that last play should have taken some thought......Like i said above, with this contest you have 7 days in between picks.....Put a little thought into $100,000.

Bulls looked good tonight. I was really surprised with the play of Pau Gasol. Draymond Green is a good defender, however he is undersized and the Bulls took full advantage of that. With no Bogut, there was no one to guard the bigs for Chicago. It would be nice if Rose always played like that (besides the turnovers). Chicago could definitely make a deep run in the weak Eastern Conference if they stay healthy.

Brackson13, if you knew Bogut was gonna be out, would you still have played this game as your 25th? Just curious.

Congrats on a hell of a streak!

This is him answering back....
i will be honest. i don't know that i would have taken the game if i knew bogut was out. that being said, when i took the game, i didn't know jimmy butler was out. again, i didn't take the game because bogut was a nightmare matchup for anyone on chicago's roster. i didn't take the game because jimmy butler was out. i took the game because i thought chicago would lost their legs in the second half due to the recent schedule, and that didn't happen. they were down double digits in the second half, and they came back and won. if they were fatigued, if they had less energy than golden state, they either didn't show it or they weathered the storm in spite of it, and i give them all the credit in the world for doing so. that is a tremendous win and cover on the road given their recent slate of games. i was wrong, chicago was great tonight, and that's all there is to it.
