I'm fortunate to live in an area where the majority of stores and restaurants do not require them. Certain stores do, and I vote with my pocketbook by not patronizing them. Not a big deal. You can get most things online anyway and have it delivered. Travis County (where Austin is located) is a different deal. And though it's not mandated, there are quite a few that think they are morally superior and have self anointed themselves as the mask police. I'm seldom there but will periodically get the stink eye and the evil stare. I haven't been hit with a cane yet, but I'm sure it's coming.

San Antonio Home Depot is a hoot. Bunch of Mexican day laborers running around with handkerchiefs halfway around their mouths, as if that's going to friggin prevent anything. Ridiculous.
