My brother says: The biggest mistake you all made was not to bet the House, savings account, bonds, mother-in-law (well yea, she we could do away with for free), all those porns you have stashed in the attic, basement, dogs ass, and under the rug (those big dead animal ones), car parked in the garage, grandmas teeth, and well you get the point...

Im usually never this excited but its kind of hard not to be when 1k is coming my way (btw im only 21 attending UM so its like breaking a cherry)....

VOR...my #1 guy is saying step up is selling out at locations...and doing good business overall....no estimates tonight unfortunately...but decent news just on his word which is usually fairly accurate...

wouldnt spend the money just yet...gun to head you obviously had a solid heads up this flick from the get go...and it has a solid shot at cashing...and i tip my cap but capping these things can switch like a light....wait for tomorrows estimate #'s...and ALWAYS wait for the actuals if its even remotely close to the estimates as ive lost bets thinking i had the right side before only to get blindsided...

hope to get your input on futures movies...

i was told at 1 randon location...stepup on 1 screen outgross WTC playing on 3 screens...8k to over 7500k....which to me is mindboggling...obviously have to wait for WTC's #'s to come out...but like joe said stepup is sitting in great postion....here's a report from another theatre (this is just 1 theatre in the country so you cant say for certain this is a winner or whats a loser b/c its just that 1 theatre) but it just illustrates how strong stepup did..

Step Up
11:20 - 72
12:20 - 95
2:00 - 120
3:00 - 134
4:35 - 160
5:35 - Sold Out (190 seater)
7:20 - Sold Out (575 seater)
8:20 - Sold Out (400 seater) (40 minutes early)
10:00 - Sold Out (575 seater) (30 minutes early)
11:00 - Sold Out (400 seater) (30 minutes early)
12:15 (added) - 195
(Boy, we got served. In fact, this did the same business You've Got Served did. The was the biggest grosser of the day. So I say 6 million is possible for this, and an outside shot for number 1).

World Trade Center
11:15 - 23
12:00 - 13
1:00 - 40
2:20 - 49
3:05 - 31
4:05 - 48
5:25 - 69
6:05 - 87
7:10 - 112
8:25 - Sold Out (175 seater)
9:10 - 289
10:15 - 246
11:30 - Sold Out (175 seater)
12:10 - 134
(This was the second biggest performer of the night, yes it did better than Talladega night. This increase 40% from what Wednesday did. That is a very good sign, so I see a Friday gross of at least 6 million based on this).

People, this fits one of the fundamental principles of good gambling. It starts out about even and gets bet up to -300 or so. I've seen some bets go to -300 in a matter of minutes or hours. This is not what I'm talking about. This continued over days.

The reason for this is not because someone posts something on a message board and dozens of people bet it. I've seen that cause bets to go to -300 in a short time. But this followed the track of consistent change of the number which would lead me to believe that there were people who realized that this number was way too low and acted on the bet over time.

Could this bet have lost? Yes. People get wrong information and act accordingly. Did this bet have much of a chance of losing? No. The information provided in this thread was sound advice and it became obvious that the line was too low. Thanks to all who posted and thanks for the $135.

Very logical explanation...you understand the concept very well...to be quite honest Ive been awaiting this movie for weeks now...I had a distinct feeling that vegas would underestimate this film...when I saw the 10 million it was quite clear that my hunch was right...then I reacted with a big bet...i then felt compelled to share this knowledge/info with all those that like sticking it to vegas when the opportunity is presented...im glad you made a buck 35...feel free to spend as you please...to the rest of you this drink is on me::drink:

Uh, yeah either that or so JoeThor nail it well before you and start your own thread. In any event, nice hit.
