Stem Cell Research....What are your thoughts

it will make most other discoveries seem insignificant".

I can think of many significant discoveries but to understand how a single fertillized egg produces a group of stem cells that then form all the speciallized tissues will indeed be a significant understanding.

Why don't we just let other countries take the ball on this one, the ones that don't have our restrictions and gladly will take the huge source of talent that gravitates to every big development in science. That way we can ask the doctors how it feels to lose jobs to outsourcing and how they are getting by on half the salary they used to have. That would be some good Bush-style research

Exactly Bill. The US is at the forefront of virtually every branch if science and technology, but stifling this research could change all that. It would be a catastrophe for American science to continue to limit this research - especially in light of all the human suffering it could help eliminate.
