"Excuses are tools of the incompetent." - Mike Tomlin, 2012

Are you implying that Tomlin made excuses for losing? I must've missed that. It's 2015, dude. They shouldn't be having coach to coach communication issues. There's a big difference between being pissed off and saying it's the reason they lost. It's ridiculous that a league with nearly 10 billion in revenue can't get something like this right.

I couldn't agree more.
It happens in every stadium. When it happens file a complaint. Don't make the excuse it was the headsets that made you lose the game when your opponent was dealing with the same issue.
I was listening to tech on the radio talk about it and it has to do with a wifi issue and narrow bandwidth combined with weather and other shit.

I'd think the location of the stadium has to do with it.

Just not the bandwidth in an area like that compared to other places. Most teams play atleast somewhat near major metros.

After the Steelers beat the Jets in the AFC Championship Game in January of 2011, the Jets said they were having problems communicating at Heinz Field. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez said the problems were something he hadn’t previously encountered.“It never really happened for that long of a time,” Sanchez said. “We had to use a walkie-talkie at one point and [offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer] was just yelling calls in at one point. It was just another challenge, and we almost overcame it.”
Sanchez said the headsets in Pittsburgh failed repeatedly.

The league said Friday afternoon that there is no reason to believe the Patriots did anything to tamper with the Steelers’ coach-to-coach communications in Thursday’s game. Instead, electrical problems and bad weather caused the interference the Steelers’ coaches were hearing.
“Based on our review to date, we believe that the audio interference on Steelers’ headsets last night was entirely attributable to an electrical issue made worse by the inclement weather; that it involved no manipulation by any individual; and that the Patriots had nothing to do with it,” the league’s statement said. “The issue was promptly resolved and there were no further problems for the remainder of the game. We will continue to review the matter to determine if there are technical steps that can be taken to avoid similar problems from occurring in other games.”

Patriots once again exonerated.
Nothing to see here but championships.

OK, we all concur. But it does happen and it happens all over the NFL including Pittsburgh. Mike Tomlin is a fucking asshole for trying to make this more than it was, he was whining like a little spoiled bitch. Then Ben moans because the Patriot defense outsmarted his offensive line, too damn funny

it's not like anyone from the Patriots ran on the field to impede the progress of a Pitt player, I lost tons of respect for Mike Tomlin this week. Fuck him too and another FU to ESPN

but I'll tell you what, I don't want it to stop. I want the losers to keep the Pats 1,000% focused, I love it when they have fire in the belly

The Seahawks’ offense struggled throughout the first half, and after the game they said headsets were to blame.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said he frequently would hear only part of a play call, and that’s why the team used two timeouts trying to get the offense organized.
“I could hear bits and pieces of the play. You hear the formation or protection or route or whatever it may be, so you just try to put the two together,” Wilson said.
Seahawks guard J.R. Sweezy said the Seahawks showed later in the game, when the headsets were working, how their offense can play when there are no communications problems.
“There were a couple times we weren’t on the same page,” Sweezy said. “When we’re all on the same page, we’re really good. That kind of explains why we were slow at the beginning.”
Headset complaints became a major story in the first game of the regular season, when the Steelers complained that they were having problems in New England, and some suggested that the Patriots could have been to blame. The NFL, however, said the league, not the home team, is responsible for making sure communications between the sideline, the press box and the quarterback’s helmet are working properly. The Seahawks may want to have a talk with the league office about ensuring there aren’t similar problems next weekend in Carolina.
