Steam don't post much but follow a lot and have a question maybe you can answer. Often see lines like in 3 games today (totals). NJersey game at 194 1/2 but 1st half is 100. Same for Memphis, game is at 194, 1st half at 100. Lakers game is at 200 1/2 but 1st half is at 104. Any idea why these lines are as such and is there any value in the haltime plays, rather than full game. thanks in advance if you answer this question.

hey Mickey.Usually linesmakers are pretty acurate in setting the totals,and the adjustments for 1st halves.they might look at how a team is doing for the year in the 1st half to set their lines.


a perfect example of this was Utah earlier in the year.every Utah game would go way under 1st half,and some would go over for the second half making the totals close.



therefore,BM's would always set the total in utah's 1st halves to be much lower than the corelation to game.



example.


UTAH over 200 for the game.

yet the 1st half line would be 94.an average bettor would look at the difference here and bet over 94 1st half but would lose constantly.


you gotta pick your spots buddy.learn where to find value,and where to find the trap.


usually tons of value betting halftime lines,because you have the benefit of a lot of stats and info.

2- is a very solid play.just as solid as game,if not more,but we will be middling the game total near tip.

It is first half total on second bet. The numbers are almost the same.
