  1. The Mariners lead the season series with the Angels, 7-6. However, the Angels are 41-20 versus Seattle since July 3, 2006. The 41 wins are the second-most victories in any series over that span.
  2. The Angels defeated the A's on Sunday, 9-1, to gain a split in their four-game series with Oakland.
  3. After splitting four games with Kansas City this weekend, the Seattle is 5-2 over its past seven. The Mariners managed just one hit on Sunday, their fewest since collecting one hit versus Oakland on April 8, 2006.
  4. Kendry Morales has driven in 33 runs in August, one shy of the Angels record for any calendar month, currently shared by Don Baylor in July 1979 and Jim Edmonds in July 1995 (34 each).
  5. Ichiro has missed the last seven games with a calf injury. While the Mariners are 57-59 (.491) with Ichiro in the starting lineup, they're 11-4 (.733) otherwise.
  6. The Mariners have won four of Luke French's five starts since he arrived at the trade deadline, thanks in part to an average of 8.68 runs of support per nine innings pitched.

  2. The Nationals are 14-14 since August 1. With a win today, Washington will have posted a winning record in a month (March not included) for the first time since September 2007 (15-12).

  1. The Dodgers are 7-4 against the Diamondbacks this season, including a 4-1 mark at Dodger Stadium.

  3. The Dodgers have won four of their last five games to regain a six-game lead in the National League West over both the Rockies and Giants.
  4. Going back to July 21, before he was placed on the disabled list, Justin Upton has hit .375 over his last 20 games with six homers, 20 RBI and 19 runs scored.
  5. Ryan Roberts has hit .364 with four homers and 12 RBI in 25 games this August, exceeded his career totals in 79 games entering this month (.226-3-9).
  6. With two home runs this weekend, Matt Kemp raised his season total to 21, becoming the first Dodger to combine at least 20 homers and 20 stolen bases since Shawn Green in 2001.
