The BIG TEN is having their worst year possibly ever, and ST JOES would consider themselves fortunate to finish any higher than 4th in the conference.

Funny though how everyone makes the comments about how bad these conferences and how weak the schedules are. There have been far worse conferences every year, year after year when it comes down to it. Yet despite all that these two teams would be the first to finish undefeated since UNLV in 1991. With all these easy conferences out there, how come no one else has done it??? And even if they do lose at some point in the dance, certainly wouldn't be the first time a top team didn't win a championship.

Because it's not as often you have a very strong team in these weak conferences that also plays a relatively easy non-conference schedule.

Teams from weaker conferences that have gotten close in year's past have at least faced a few legit non-conference opponents...

Their non-conference wasn't that weak. There are a lot easier gimmes than they got. Not many teams would take the risk of playing Gonzaga in game one that counts. They went to Cal and won, not an easy task. The Big 5 are down a bit this year, but they took care of business with them. I don't see this schedule as being anything close to easy. Not the toughest lineup, but then again everyone says that when you don't play in the ACC or Big 12 these days.

Guys,
See what a good defense and an off night shooting 3's can do, just ask DUKE last night! I can't see St. Joes going far at all! Someone will knock them off maybe early!! Stanford is awesome both inside and out! There are a few teams who are big inside and shoot the 3's too!

Bump

Well St. Joes made it through to the sweet 16. I have them at 16:1.

What turned out better is the "field" bet I made at CRIS at 25:1. I have 3 teams in the sweet 16, UAB, Vandy and G. Tech. Unfortunately the two best of those teams, G.Tech and UAB are in the same bracket and only one can make it to the final four. Vandy would have to overcome UConn to make it.

Anybody know what the championship odds are on those teams now?

At Carib-G.Tech 10-1, UAB 40-1, Vandy 70-1.
At Pinny-G.Tech 8.75-1, UAB 60-1, Vandy 70-1. Good luck on your play! I have Duke at 5-1 for 3 dimes! Duke and UCONN are tied for favs at some places others have UCONN as the favorite!

thanks. Of that list, I would think UAB at 40:1 is the best deal. Anybody that can beat Kentucky can go all the way.

PPeter I have St.Joes at 150-1 from the beginning of the year...Have you thought of hedging you bet at all? I dont know if I should just bet against them the next 4 games or just leave it for the game against wake and hammer ok st or pitt.

Wake plays soft D, and though bigger inside, you may just want to sweat this one out, then hedge later.

Pitt and OSU despite being next shortest, look the best value left, as they can ball with anyone, unless your heart is dead set on either Duke or UConn.

Ppeter, UAB though making magic, and live dog, played UW to 2 on 100 pt gm, and UK served up game with 4 pt lead on inbounds screw-ups late.

I would think UAB needs someone besides themselves, to solve Duke or UConn, for them to ever cash in?..same for St.Joe futures.

Weaknesses get zoomed in on hard with prep time & rest, in the Round of 16.

Good luck the rest of the way fellas!

Wake is better than St Joe. They get out on the perimeter and upclose in the guards faces, they will roll.

The only thing St. Joe's has got for them is that they play defense at least. Wake let VCU score in the 70's and it seems no matter who they play Williams and Danelius are in foul trouble.

There ya go St. Joe....3 more games to go now. Okie St. is going to be tough. I was at both games tonight and they looked good when Allen was driving to the basket. For St. Joe I don't even want to hear about them not having a big man because it doesn't matter if they play a team with 3 7 footers or 2 6"8 guys they get killed inside every game and have all year long. As long as they don't let up too many 2nd chance points they should be ok.

I'm 3-0 game sides to St.Joe in the dance, but their "Warholian Fifteen" is at 14.53.

They may play it tight, may cover a fattie, but not beating OSU outright..on this I'd wager one of my diminishing returns testicles.

Everyone continues to point out St Joe's weaknesses. And this team just keeps winning. They will surely have their hands full with OK St, but I am certainly not ready to count them out. We are loving it here in Philly.

GaryPhilly, that angle is one of why I had them tonight, and versus a soft-minded & defensively lapse WF it helped motivate them, but OSU is more stout than that.

Granted I did see a few causes for concern by OSU's D tonight, ones that a straighter shooting team like St.Joe could expose, yet I feel St.Joe has been pushed two straight now by good/not great teams, while OSU played one of the top 5 in the land, and cruised somewhat.

It definitely will depend on the number, as to where I'll be looking.

GL the rest of the way GP!
