Cgy is -6 ..... I had a 2 point difference in power ratings so with CGY at home that made them -1 and you can charge -4.5 to -5 for starting QB in the CFL.

The exuberance in this thread for CGY probably didn't help as i am quite sure the books comb forums for opinions on minor leagues like cfl.

Just ask Sprinky :missingte

Fwiw

FWIW:

Durant and Crandell are both questionabler for this week vs. Calgary.

Although Jyles filled in OK last week......new ball game on the road perhaps.

Jyles.....14 of 18......for 201 yards.....1 TD......1 Int

i am a die hard riders fan but they will no doubt lose this week. the riders never do that well in calgary and they will be hyped for this one. calgary will put up too many points for the riders to match i think with durant, fantuz, flick, crandell out

i figure calgary by 9 - 10

Still undecided about this game but here are some observations. Recently, Calgary has 7 injured players mostly in defense. Whereas Saskatchewan has 5 players out and key injuries in offense. Now Saskatchewan offense and Calgary defense are overrated. With first meeting at home, winning is more urgent for Calgary. However Saskatchewan is a good road team and tends to play well against Calgary.

montreal is gonna CRUSH hamilton. they too are coming home off two VERY close road loses to the 2 best teams in the cfl ( bc and sask ). hamilton is a mess again after some early season hope at 1 - 1.

i think calgary / montreal ML will be a good bet

Even though Saskatchewan is undefeated, etc., the books know full well what the public is thinking or which way they are leaning and going to lean and for that reason, they purposely set Calgary up that high to either scare the public off or make them pay the price should Saskatchewan cover the spread and really make them pay the price should they, the Riders, win SU for those who take Calgary on the moneyline. Son of a gun but that's always the way it is when we happen to see an upcoming game that appears to be a real good play.

All I can say is this will be the first and last time I throw out a strong opinion on a game without a line being presented already as I truly feel oddmakers scouted this thread out and jacked the line up cause 6 is ridiculous against an undefeated team. It was influenced I guarantee it. Live and learn never saying anything again prior to lines being produced.

I just noticed a few moments ago that the Calgary-Saskatchewan match is the first of a home and home between the two teams. Both clubs will meet out in Regina the following Thursday night.

For perhaps a little insight into B2B games check out my post on:

CFL - Bettings Systems - Week 6

You may find it of interest. Also BC and Edmonton are 1st of B2B games this week.

i am going to disagree with that comment.

there was 5 or 6 good reasons to make this line close to a calgary TD victory.

1. riders struggle historically at mcmahon
2. injuries to chick, fantuz, flick, durant, james johnson, crandell
3. third string QB vs henry burris
4. calgary coming off a loss at home revved up to face the top team in the cfl right now
5. riders undefeated record doesnt mean they are superior to calgary it just means they performed better in the last minute of games. honestly calgary could be 5 - 0 except for 2 circus catch TD's in the final 30 seconds of 2 road games
6. calgary totally healthy on offense.

i was at a Earls location in regina here after the game on sunday and chris cuthbert, glen suitor and the tsn crew were there and i asked them their thoughts on next week and they all said calgary by a TD. not saying they know it all but it is a pretty widespread though on this board and among those that cover the cfl closely. i doubt the sportsbooks were gonna be giving this a close line.

Don't assume people in charge know what they are d

the one thing that sticks with me is the post game interviews from last weeks Sask/Tor game.

The Argo players were all saying that it was a very physical game and they didn't feel bad about losing to such a tough team.

Calgary is banged up on D are they not? isn't that how the dinnwiddie scored so easily?

i am thinking of taking a shot with this now that crandell is starting.

my only hesitation is that calgary at home can sometime get on rolls and just hammer teams.

This Is A Bit Unusual

Not picking sides here gang, but something that is just an oddity has been passed on to me by my Canadian conduit. I'm sure it means absolutely nothing, just interesting is all.

In the last 8 years there has only been one team that has opened up a season with more than 5 covers. That was Saskatchewan in 2003 were ther were 2-7 SU to start the season and 9-0 ATS.

Gives one pause.
