Not sure what you mean by that, I thought you've been successful.

But looking above at all of your plays, a majority of them are unders.

THAT.............is where it's at........:toast:

Hache, several months ago, i decided to make a committment to what i will call "Pattern Betting"..

i cant really tell you what that is but ill try and put it into words, if i can...

its part chasing, part handicapping, part system play, all rolled into one. also takes into account a "look ahead" mentality..

i went into this den/dal series, wanting one game to go Under. i happen to get it in game 1.. i would have been prepared to double down the next game and depending on circumstances, quite possible keep doubling down, to as many as 6 times... thats why the small wager amount..

i also quit looking at this as a way to get rich but more as a way to make some very good side money..

dont confuse this with all out chasing, i keep control at all times and ill make the final call on whether or not to keep the chase going, so ive veered from that 100% mechanical aspect of it...

i really got this going with baseball and the start of playoffs... pretty successful so far (1st month)....

$2090 in baseball, provided the dodgers beat the runline today
$405 in the nhl playoffs
$259 in the nba playoffs

$2754 in 28 days, not fortune making but some good consistent profits, at least thats what i hope develops out of this...

i know that didnt fully explain anything, sorry..

As long as it works, keep it at it SSI.

Are you saying you are following the same method for each sport, and using primarily totals?
Or was that under/total you mentioned in the Denver/Dallas series you were "chasing" until it hit just an example?

"Chasing" as in I understand what type of chase you are referring to....

Hache, in the den/dal series, i was prepared to chase the under, quite a few more times, if need be, as the series has went under the total, 15 out of the last 21 games now..

i like to use totals... one reason, im better with them and they keep the juice down.... i dont really like to chase the spread in the nba, as they can win and not beat the spread... moneyline is out of the question in the nba..

in the nhl, i may chase the totals, i may chase the ML, i may chase a home team, i may chase a dog... just whatever i feel is the best play..

baseball is a little more of a mechanical chase for me...

and its all about playing small, in accordance to your bankroll... i have over 10k allocated now for this and still play to win $50...

things such as these, are all part of what im trying to do...

i miss alot but i dont want to open too many at once.... new high on baseball now, up (+41.80 units) this season and i dont think ive made but one bet over $400 on the season..

Your explanation above gave be a better understanding of what you're doing & why you approach each sport & each matchup between teams differently.

I'm a stranger to the MLB & NHL, but as for chasing totals in the NBA, and even the NFL, I had a thread a while back asking others who used a "chase system" why they would ever use sides instead of totals.
Not compltetey, but in a way, it relates to what you are doing in the Denver/Dallas series, for example. If makes much better sense to chase an under, or an over, on any game or games as sooner or later it is going to hit, unlike a side which you could lose many more in a row much easier.

I know your approach goes a little deeper than this though.......

that is correct Hache,,, what i plan to do in the nba next season...

i have a very good totals chase system, so i dont have to worry about totals...

but for sides, im going to first do some research.... then im going to wait and let a team beat the spread (7-8) times in a row, then ill begin to fade them...

im very set with baseball and the post-season in basketball and the nhl... ill have to work on the other things, over the summer...

Hache, a couple other good things about this style..

it reduces your amount of capping time down..
you almost always know your next bet and the amount of that bet

and that is a huge advantage.. its called having a plan....

im chasing the bos/car Over in the NHL.. i have over 5 (1-30) tonight, $117 to win $90.... i lost $40 on game 1 of the series..

ive also made some mistakes during this first month, not many in baseball but in the playoffs and ive still turned a profit..

2009 NBA Playoffs: 11-7 (+$259)

plays for monday may 4

19. boston -2 (-1.20) (betjam) $60 to win $50

20. lakers/hou Under 193.5 (-1.10) $55 to win $50 greek

Hache, initial plan is to chase the home team ATS in the bos/orl series, as the lines should be tight and the home team is (21-9 ATS) in last 30 meetings... of course i reserve the right to change this or stop this altogether at anytime... i could change it to boston beating the spread but for the start, its the home team...

back on tuesday

Sounds as if you do indeed, "Have a plan" SSI

Thanks for sharing

I'll be checking out your plays with more interest in the future.
And now that I know you have very good reasoning behind each & every pick, I will pay much more attention when you have the same exact play or plays I am leaning towards which will strenghten my decision even more. Of course, I will make my decisions before glancing at yours to my opinions aren't swayed, lol.

Best Of Luck.....:toast:

yes but remember, im looking at the next (2-3) games as well... if boston loses tomorrow (they may), ill be back on them in game 2, with a double down and then ill make the call for game 3, if i have lost the first 2... i could go to orlando (and keep chasing the home team), i could stay with boston or i could stop the chase altogether...

so, im not just thinking about game 1, when i make that first bet... im trying to look a little further down the road..

ok hache, you could always chase the dog in the series, easier... houston could be in play on this as well.... lakers will be over bet the entire series and im sure houston can probably beat the line, in at least one game but i dont want to overload my wagon, as ive already bet the Under... if the lakers cover the first game or two, i think the opportunity to "fade the lakers" will emerge again, now i didnt necessarily mean, bet on houston, i said fade the lakers, which could mean a carry over to next series, if they sweep houston..

i think the hawks will beat the number against clev, as well but im not looking that far ahead...

i am probably finished with the dal/den series.. i cant be greedy, another downfall for people..

Gotcha SSI

You have a LOT of time on your hands hugh? lol

Seriously though, do you have plenty of spare time or do you have this pattern so well in place, it's pretty quick for you now?

I know you mentioned earlier your methods cut down on capping, but still, you're covering every major sport......

i do have alot of time, im very active in trading the emini sp 500 market, trading as i type this, as the market opened at 5:00 pm cst..

i own a convenience store, so im "in and out" all day...

but for baseball, i have this pattern down and ive pretty well got it down for the NHL and NBA playoffs, it takes me about 10-15 minutes each day (and thats it)....

ive got to work on the NFL, the NHL regular season and all of college sports.. so ive got a ways to go...

i hope to make 30k by next april with this and maybe move up from there but i wont rush anything...
