ted, what do you think of my concept? on selected series, play dog in game 1 for $50 (1/2 unit) to win + money, if win then series is over, if lose play either (1/2 unit) or (1 unit) on game 2 --- depends on size of dog.. if win then series is over, if lose then bet (1 unit) (1.5 unit) or (2 units) on game 3 of series... only needing 1 win in SELECTED series to show a profit.. avoid the sweeps, max loss on sweep should be no more than 3.5 units and in some cases only 2 units.. any thoughts on this?

Honestly, really would have to see some compelling history behind doing something like this. I'm probably wrong here, but it seems almost similiar to the doubling up theory in casino table games which I deplore. You are too good of a game handicapper to use a series progressive play style. Teams can get hot and go on some lengthy win streaks and leave you susceptible to losing the entire series. Truly think individual game capping is a much better route. Watch how the teams are currently playing, starting pitching, and line value. Like your approach to small favorites and dogs. I've always liked how you are creative in trying new approaches but do believe each needs to be tested at length before placing real money on them. Just this oldman's thoughts. As always though, you know I wish you the best at whatever you decide to try.

of course ted, i respect your opinions -- thats why i asked, and yes im still first and foremost a single game capper, i just enjoy toying around with systems and its for pretty small money that im doing this with,, 1/2 unit is just $50...

However coming into today it is 23-22 ($1342) on this young season.. and ted its my job as a capper to lay off those series with the really bad teams,, i think you and bobk are missing that point,, im not playing every series indescriminently,, you cap the series before game 1 is played... passing on the entire series if it doesnt make the cut.. we shall see how it goes as, ill be doing this until the verdict is in...

Understood. If you see a series that has value and you believe that you can turn a profit in any particular series, then by all means play it on a series bet. Knowing your approach, I suspect a positive result from such a trial will result. As you said, as a capper it is your job to find any angle you can to turn a profit. Hopefully this will just be one of many that will all add up in the end to a healthy bankroll.
