The Lakers just aren't that good. A Martian who just looked at their stats and games all year round would conclude that the Spurs are the clearly superior team.

The Lakers have big names. Malone and Payton additions have helped the team, but only slightly. The bad chemistry and distractions, infigting, has never been worse.

Terrible spot for them off backto back wins.

I love the "Martian approach" to capping. Those Martians are sharp dudes. No seriously, props to the Martians, they're way sharper than Venusians.

contradiction is not a strong capping method

What happened in one game last year is hardly statistically significant.

it's the exact same spot even the date is the same. 2-0 then 2-2 same series same everything, just LA has a better team now.

Lakers 14-31 ATS on the road

but this is signifigant? considering LA was healthy in maybe only 20% of those games?

What were the results the first two games this series? 10 point wins for Spurs. Spurs at home in 04 playoffs, all wins by double digits. Lakers 1-3 with 1 lucky ot win. On the road. Shaq cannot bowl defenders over. Malone cannot cheap shot nor throw elbows. The glove will have to let go. Spurs bench will prove the difference. Lakers just plain average, if not below on the road. Spurs one of the best at home. Lakers down fast first half at home? Maybe no comeback this time. Kobe on or Kobe off? Shaq at line? Spurs seem to be mentally tough and took their mandated beatings well. Going to go back to form in a hurry, in the first Q. Best wishes...OF

People remember that in that Game 5 last year, Lakers lost by 2 and Horry could have won it.

They forget Lakers got annhilated for three quarters and got a miracle comeback to cover.

Yes OF, but the first two games of the series were not pivotal like this one is. the Lakers win when they have to, they also play to their level of competition. you will get no further arguement from me it seems we are very convinced in our minds who the right side is.

and also panther if you read this, I have no ill will towards you also I've made some decent coin following your plays in the past we just happen to disagree here, and I can get a little too carried away when I'm discussing capping a play.

GL to everyone tonight

with the hype surrounding this game, one of the mods should start an in game thread in the offshore forum when the game starts. . .just an idea
