Groundhog, guess my question would be how do you think Notre Dame is underrated other than their schedule. You
may be right but these are the same players who gave up 41 points per game to end the season. When a team loses
five of its last six games....something is amiss or at least seems that way to me.

It would seem the opportunity is there for a great season...but something tells me a good season is what ND will end
up with. Just my view for what its worth.

Welcome your take on the Irish..........................

they have more qb questions than bama .... scary to think uva's junk qb might be their answer

Good point , time will tell , but even if they go 9-3 they should be able to win the east. I hope i'm wrong but ive got that feeling in my bones that they pull off the ccg this year.

...Of course all projections are subject to change.

BYU

The Cougars need to grow some roots and find a conference home. Playing as an independent has not exactly been a good fit for the football program. Independence has its perks and its drawbacks with the Cougars seemingly suffering more of the latter. BYU was one of the least disciplined teams in the country last year while being one of the most penalized in FBS football. The big brawl with Memphis after the end of Miami Beach Bowl was disgraceful. Better team discipline and keeping quarterback Taysom Hill healthy will be huge for this year's team to better last season's 8-5 record. BYU was 4-0 and ranked No. 18 last year before Hill broke his leg against Utah, and the Cougars lost four straight games before getting another win. The Cougars start 2015 with a murderous schedule that includes trips to Nebraska, UCLA and Michigan plus a home date with Boise State. An 0-4 start is not out of the question before getting into a softer part of the schedule. With many new faces this season, keeping Hill in the line up is a must especially trying to survive the tough front end games. Eight wins are possible but I wouldn't bet my easy chair on it...and my easy chair is O L D.

At any rate getting back to my point about recruit statistics being basically worthless, LSU lost one of it's 5 star 2014 recruits today. 5 star LB Clifton Garrett has left the school to go to a Junior College. This guy was allegedly the #2 OLB in the 2014 class according to 247. I guess 247 is as stupid as this guy is. Point proven.
This may be the most asinine post that I've ever read in the college forum. No wonder everybody thinks your a joke. You really know very little about how college football really works.

Alabama State Amateur Athlete Of The Year

Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper has been named Alabama's Amateur Athlete of the Year. Cooper completed his three-year Crimson Tide career with 226 catches for 3,463 yards and 31 touchdowns. He twice posted better than 1,000 yard seasons and currently ranks second in SEC history in career receiving yards despite leaving school a year early to declare for the NFL Draft. He is tied for first for most career receiving touchdowns in SEC history with 31 and third in career receptions. Cooper was selected with the 4th overall selection in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. He was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy and won the 2014 Biletnikoff Award as the nation's most outstanding college receiver, becoming the first Alabama to take home the award. Cooper was also the SEC Offensive Player of the Year and a unanimous first team All-American selection.

I have been watching Alabama football for a lot of years and this kid is as good as any who has played for the Tide. I always thought Ozzie Newsome (1974-77) and Julio Jones were on a different level for receivers and Cooper certainly joins them.

SEC Quick Hits

EAST
1. Georgia - The supporting cast will overcome average quarterback play as East's most talented team does what it should.
2. Missouri - Gary Pinkel keeps finding ways to win, but it will be difficult for the Tigers to three-peat in the East.
3. Tennessee - Last year's bowl win and 4-1 finish lead some to believe Vols can over come lack of depth and make a run at East.
4. Florida - New coach Jim McElwain will improve the offense, but Gators will struggle to exceed 7-5 mark.
5. South Carolina: With a rough road schedule and a lack of big time difference makers, not exactly a ton of optimism.
6. Kentucky: Some positive things going on with the program, just not enough to be a player in the East.
7. Vanderbilt: Coach Derek Mason fired both coordinators, then took over as defensive coordinator. He will be a full time defensive coordinator at another school next year.

WEST
1. Alabama - Nick Saban has amassed another super-talented roster, but winning the West is never easy.
2. Auburn - The offense will score, Muschamp will improve the defense, can't wait for Iron Bowl.
3. LSU - The Tigers have athletes everywhere, running backs, receivers and defense are strong.
4. Arkansas - Hogs came on strong to beat LSU, Ole Miss, Texas in bowl; 2015 will see more progress.
5. Texas A&M - Chavis will improve the defense and the offense will produce...so, at worst a tough out.
6. Ole Miss - The Rebels are a huge wild card. Has frontline talent to be a player...QB and depth a problem.
7. Mississippi State - Bulldogs return SEC low eight starters; lost best RB, best LB; rugged road schedule awaits.

Indiana defensive back Antonio Allen was arrested on drug charges Tuesday night, including heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine. I would have to say he is done at Indiana.

....

According to court documents, Indiana State Police worked with an informant who purchased drugs from Allen on two occasions in exchange for $620 and $770 in cash. Police supplied the informant with an audio/video recording device.
In the first instance, the informant told police there were four or five other people in the apartment where the purchase of heroin and meth was made.
In the video, Allen is seen " counting out the money, weighing up the narcotics, and handing them to the informant," according to a probable cause affidavit. There was also a poster in the room depicting Allen's name, according to the document.
Allen can be seen receiving money from the informant in the second incident, according to the document. The police officer confronted the informant, who admitted that he took some meth and hid it in his vehicle. The informant was subsequently taken to jail for possession of meth.

And that kid was about as good as it got on the defensive side of the ball for Indiana. Some thought he had All Big 10 potential. now he is looking at hard time in prison.

Go, you are nothing but a washed up Okie who has NEVER accomplished a thing in his life except to make up stories about wagers that you never made. You talk about GOY's but you will never go to Vegas to play them because you do not want to tie up your money for that long a period of time. That means that you do not have the money to tie up. Playing GOY's is like an investment in the Stock Market. It takes time for investments to develop into money makers. But look who I am talking finances to. You have never bought a stock in your life because it would tie up your money for too long a period. You are way out of your league here. Stick to your B.S. stories that you tell at the 19th hole.

The last person who should giving opinions and playing GOY's is you. If your as successful as you were last year, I hope you have a lot of money to burn like you claim you do. Your going to need it. After seeing your 2014 results, I'm glad I'm out of your league...

We shall see. Needless to say, I have enough guts to post my wagers, something that you never do. I can buy and sell you 50 times over. You WILL post your picks this season, because I am calling you out. The one thing I insist on is that you actually wager on the picks you make. Like myself, if you are giving an opinion and are not going to wager on a game, you will make that perfectly clear like I do. Do you have any questions, or do you think your Okie education is enough for you to understand all of this.

I posted all my plays for 10 years here, and have my records and posts to back it. You are such a horse's ass that you don't stick to one place long enough to have a record. All we have from you is your word, which net worth is in red figures right now..

North Dakota State

The Bison are looking to make it FIVE straight FCS National Championships and it would be difficult to bet against them. North Dakota State has won the national title every season since 2011. They have compiled an amazing 58-3 record over the past four years, with losses coming to Youngstown State (2011), Indiana State (2012) and Northern Iowa (2014). Along the way, they have posted a perfect 4-0 record against the FBS, with wins over Minnesota (2011), Colorado State (2012), Kansas State (2013) and Iowa State (2014). What makes the current run even more impressive is the power and depth of the Missouri Valley Conference. Last year, the league claimed five spots in the FCS playoff round of sixteen teams. This season, six teams from the MVFC will open in the preseason FCS top 25 with North Dakota State ranked No. 1.

Ten Quarterback Transfers

Transfers seem to be a dime a dozen these days with quarterbacks getting the most attention. Several transfer signal callers are expected to make an impact with their new team this season. Take a look............

Vernon Adams, Eastern Washington to OREGON
Connor Brewer, Arizona to VIRGINIA
Tyler Ferguson, Penn State to LOUISVILLE
Daxx Garman, Oklahoma State to MARYLAND
Everett Golson, Notre Dame to FLORIDA STATE
Baker Mayfield, Texas Tech to OKLAHOMA
Nathan Peterson, Tennessee to PITTSBURGH
Hayden Rettig, LSU to RUTGERS
Jake Rudock, Iowa to MICHIGAN

Who will be the difference makers and who won't will play out over the season. I think Jake Rudock has a chance to be productive with Michigan. I'm sure there are others......................

With LSU's Jennings getting caught playing O.J, LSU may be hurt by losing Rettig to Rutgers. Everyone knows that the QB position was the major weak spot in the LSU lineup, and now they have no depth at all at that position.

Virginia Tech

Frank Beamer is the longest tenured coach in FBS football, as he's coached Virginia Tech since 1987, taking the Hokies to a bowl game in every year since 1993. But, with a 22-17 record over the past three seasons, the once proud team has hit a string of mediocrity, something Beamer is hoping to break out of 2015. There are a few talented playmakers on offense but with an unproven offensive line and inconsistency at quarterback, the Hokies could struggle to break out of their recent run of mediocrity. Senior quarterback Michael Brewer had plenty of ups and downs during 2014 throwing 15 interceptions. He will have a formidable set of targets to work with and a solid running back tandem to hand the ball too, however, the offensive line will be young and inexperienced, which could be an issue for the offense this year. If VT is going to compete at a high level this season, it will be on the back of the defense, specifically a potentially dominate defensive line. The defense allowed just 20 points per game last year, and could be even better this year with the return of eight starters. Bottom line, Virginia Tech has a chance to challenge in the Coastal Division again. Another middling season and the chatter will increase for Beamer to step down. The first test will come in the opener as a three touchdown dog.

Buffalo

Lance Leipold is Buffalo's new head football coach. Bet most of you have never heard of him. Well, all he did at Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater is compile an astounding 109-6 record in eight seasons while leading the Warhawks to 6 national championships. He won national titles in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014. Leipold reached 100 wins faster than any coach in National Collegiate Athletic Association history, breaking the record set back in 1921. His record in the playoffs is an amazing 34-1.

Leipold is a former quarterback at Wisconsin-Whitewater. He returned to the program after spending three seasons as associate head coach at Nebraska-Omaha. Before that, he served as an assistant at Nebraska for 3 years under Frank Solich. Buffalo is very young and inexperienced on defense but has enough skill players on offense to make 2015 an interesting first year for the new coach. A team worth keeping tabs on this season, especially if the Owls get off to a good start.
