Joe Biden as their candidate was sinking beyond help in the polls. He was gonna get eaten by Trump in the election. It had become clear that the American public was turning against their plan A of lawfare against Trump.
This is Plan B. Get Joe off the stage. Get someone else to step in as the Democrat candidate. Virtually anyone had to be better than Joe.
So they get him off the classified documents crime by using the lame excuse that any jury would look at him as a senile sympathetic character and not convict while using damning language re his cognitive decline to make the American people look like they were tough on old Joe. When they are really forcing him to step down.
